Customer Reviews
Perfect in every way
Unlike the previous reviewer, I have enormous calves (14.5 in circumference) and expected never to find a knee-high leather boot anywhere that would fit a tiny foot and a large calf. I got these thinking I'd probably have to return them, but because they were made by Merrell (my favourite shoe maker), were waterproof, with the Q-form and the thinsulate, AND looked so good, I had to try them out. Plus, they were only $20 more expensive than some of the ankle boots Merrell make.
They were admittedly a bit snug around the calf the first couple of times I wore them, but once on felt incredibly comfortable - the neoprene affords a lot of comfort. They have stretched a little now, and are perfect. I wear them almost every day during the autumn and winter. The tailored slim ankle looks good, although during the wear-in period when the leather wrinkles up a little there were marks on my ankles when I took off the boots, although I assume this is typical of any knee-high boot.
I couldn't (and wouldn't) wear thick socks with these boots, since they are a close-fitting style. I have worn them in deep snow and rain, and they are warm and waterproof. Quality-wise, I am bowled over by these things. My only regret is that I have to cover them up when I wear long trousers.
nice, but itdidn't fit. so I returned it
This boot was designed and built so nicely, I wanted to keep it. But alas, it didn't fit when I put on a thick sock for cold weather so I returned it. The calf opening is too big for me so I couldn't wear it under jeans, because it pushed the jeans out and looked strange. the sold and upper aren't stiff and have a nice finish. I love love love that it's waterproof, as a person who lives in a rainy city. I hope Merrell makes a boot for tiny calf girls like me who love their Q-form soles.
Love!
I love this boot. After a few walks around the block to break them in, they are perfect. They are beautiful, clean up well and will obviously last me years. I have climbed a waterfall in Iceland, and go-go danced all night long in these boots. A year later, they are still my favorite pair of boots ever.
My feet tend to run a little wide, but they fit fine.
