Customer Reviews
Stick with the old monitor
This is the Garmin soft strap monitor part 010-10997-02. The picture is wrong. I can not recommend you buy this product. Stick with the older style 010-10997-00 monitor (which is actually pictured for this product.). If you want to know why I would rate a product so poorly, I would direct you to the Garmin Support Forums. Then search for peanut butter. Yes, peanut butter. Many users report a problem were the monitor sends data readings way to high. I for example, ran 5.5 miles this morning with an average heart rate of 235. That is, by the way, about 80 beats per minute off from reality. Why do I suggests you search for Peanut Butter? Well, user report that if you smear honey or peanut butter, the device will work. The Garmin reps that monitor the forums, for their part, suggest you wear tight fitting shirts. Try turning the monitor upside down or wear it on your back. If all else fails, you should just live with it until you start sweating enough to dissipate the static charge.
