The last decade has seen a rapid surge of interest in new sensing and monitoring devices for healthcare and the use of wearable/wireless devices for clinical applications. One key development in this area is implantable in vivo monitoring and intervention devices. Several promising prototypes are emerging for managing patients with debilitating neurological disorders and for monitoring of patients with chronic cardiac diseases. Despite the technological developments of sensing and monitoring devices, issues related to system integration, sensor miniaturization, low-power sensor interface circuitry design, wireless telemetric links and signal processing have still to be investigated. Although this book is sharply focused on "On body & Implantable Sensor Network", reader can get well ballanced in-depth knowledge components (from bio-sensing device, wireless communication, network protocol standards, low power signal processing to context-aware sensing) that are must have knowledge for a person who wish to be in this new field.
Among them, systematic review of various bio-sensing devices and their integration method to wireless network is the most shiny part of the book. Also BSN development kit and programing guide in the book is unique and very helpful. Definetly this book has very good value
