Product Description

Tender and heartbreaking, hopeful and honest, The Color Blue is a horrid roller coaster ride through life and everyday experiences that are learned to be appreciated. Contrasting beautifully the pain and suffering with the sublime joys of triumph and victory - and living in peace.

Although many women have unfortunately had to live this way or in very similar circumstances, I'm happy that Sharon Powers through her book titled, The Color Blue sheds light on prostitution. Missy, the main character tells her story as she strugles to make a better life for herself . Mrs Powers in her first debut novel shares what happens to young women in life when they are dealt a Bad Hand from the start. Four stars for this one Mrs. Powers!

SUCCINCT, INSPIRING, EMOTIONAL, ENJOYABLE5
"The Color Blue" is an inspiring true account that chronicles the life and times of a young lady born during the mid sixties in a large mid-western city. Written substantially in the vernacular of the setting, it relates the loss of a parent as a pivotal point spelling the beginning of the end of an already ominously stable life.

The reader is taken on a roller coaster ride plunging one into the depths of disparity, unimaginable hardships, to minor triumphs, only to descend once again. Through it all, the central figure musters the courage and stamina to elevate herself to a better life via higher education at a time and in a place where extreme personal adversity, cheapness of life, substance abuse, violence, and the lack of nurturing influences and economic opportunities prevailed.

The vivid imagery is gripping and successfully holds the reader spellbound through the final words. The title reflects a fresh, new means of telling us "The sky is the limit." One only needs sufficiently strong desire.

In the end, the work brought to mind something Henry Ford once said: "Whether you think you can - or think you can't - YOU'RE RIGHT"

A Really Great Story!!!5
This is a really great story about a young girl's struggle against generational curses, mental illness, low self esteem, and low self worth. The beauty of it all is that she allowed the Lord to be her guide even when she thought all hope was gone and she did not stop there. She knew that faith without works is dead. Though everything in the universe led her to failure she succeeded despite it all.

This book makes you laugh, cry, get angry, and feel sorry for all of the characters. In the end all of the hard work paid off and she made it! I am looking forward to the next book!
