From the Publisher
Rintu is a really great guy and his knowledge of NLP application in the field of persuasion is second-to-none. But rather than me tell you how great he is - it's easier if I just share some of the praise his work's been getting from people like you...
"Rintu's masterful use of language is only surpassed by his very clever way of making the complex very easy to understand. It is a real pleasure to see such a difficult subject broken down into simple, practical and usable chunks. Beginners and experts alike will find this book filled with useful information. The issue isn't the information but the results you get from using it and this book makes it easy to get results." - Romilla Ready, Lead Author, NLP for Dummies & NLP Workbook for Dummies
"I wish [this book was] around when I was doing my NLP Training. I can't believe that twenty minutes reading your book put all my training in context so I can now easily use [technique edited]. I finally have the confidence to properly use hypnotic language in my presentations and with my teams and the results are showing already." - Richard, Sales Manager, Master NLP Practitioner
"I have just read the [first pattern] of The Persuasion Skills Black Book and thought it was excellent. I am amazed at the insight required to write stuff like that. I will be honoured to have you as my 'NLP guru' in the future. Now I can't wait to go out and try this technique out on my patients and see the effects..." - Dr Sri, NLP Newbie, Scotland 2007
"The results are undeniable... the economy being what it is here in the U.S. and homeowners being very conservative where I live... our company has had a difficult couple of weeks. After employing [Rintu's] ideas I had a great week. Four sales and four happy customers last week." - Travis, Sales Professional, Home Improvement Industry
"I started using the pattern in my calls on Friday afternoon and I closed more deals in that one afternoon than I would usually in 3 days, and Fridays are usually a slow day. I wasn't expecting instant results! It's great how you use examples and illustrations as well as sneaking all the patterns into your writing. Everyone would do better to understand persuasion skills this way, but I am glad they don't or I'd be out of a job." - Jamie, Sales Professional
"Rintu demonstrates by his writing that he walks what he talks... what he demonstrates is actually his deep understanding and mastery of the mind rather than the use of language alone... I feel compelled to read on and on, not, because of the hypnotic language pattern but because it is a real pleasure to keep reading and learning from Rintu. I have actually read a dozen books on NLP (in English or Chinese) and none of them (I mean on the topic of hypnotic language pattern) comes near to this. The first 24 pages already worth the price of the whole book." - Liu Yui Kai, Physician, Hong Kong
"In Persuasion Skills Black Book Rintu Basu has created a practical guide to learning persuasion skills that you can use every day in the real world. I found the most value in the fact that Rintu actually demonstrates the patterns as you read, then describes several examples and finally reveals, step-by-step, how to create your own 'short, snappy and usable' language patterns that get you the persuasive results you want." - Colin G Smith, Master NLP Practitioner, author of 'The NLP ToolBox' and 'The Half Second Rule'
From the Author
Congratulations on finding my Little Black Book...
These patterns are not necessarily about sending people into a hypnotic trance but just a way to move you from one perspective on an issue to another.
I can get very excited when I think about the results people are likely to create using this material. If you spend a few minutes thinking about where, when and what results you are looking for I would guess you can get excited as well.
In essence the little-known patterns and approaches I'm sharing can be used in all areas of your life to help you get more of what you want and less of what you don't.
A WARNING Now, if you think mind-control sounds unethical then I'd just like to say, what you do with these patterns is for you to decide. I urge you to have good intent, leave people in a better place than you found them in and always work towards win/win situations. I don't say this through any altruistic, tree hugging or saintly attitude. It simply makes sense. If you con, trick and force people against their will you will be caught out eventually. As a result you will lose credibility, trust and friendship.

It's not always what you say, but how you say it that makes the difference
I wonder if you know just how useful Rintu's book will be for you. I know you must have read a few testimonials by now, but the point is that his skills in persuasion are simply amazing. I sat there reading, enjoying what was going on and it's really interesting because you can really begin to notice how in just a few days you begin communicating even more effectively without even working that hard at it. Of course it takes a little practice, but there are easy to do exercises which take about 10 minutes a day which will have you up and running in no time at all.
Rintu has concisely put together the persuasion skills black book in such a way that anyone who wants to be an effective communicator or wants to develop their communication skills further will be able to easily. There are more than a few great reasons to get and read his book, his humorous writing style and keen insight into how persuasion works is a wonderful blend which has you wanting to read more. Whether it be at work or play, dating, running meetings more fluently or just having a bit of fun with words. You may even find yourself delightfully entertained thinking back at how easy it all is, with the persuasion skills black book.
I'd say this is a wonderful primer to "Sleight of Mouth" by Robert Dilts, and if like me, you want to be an exquisite communicator you'll want to learn from the best.
In the above review I've utilized some of the patterns in the persuasion skills black book. How many can you find... Happy reading :)
"The Missing Link?"
If you are an NLP enthusiast like me, no doubt you have read countless books both about the theory and practice of language patterns for both business and social use.
There are some good ones out there of course, but even those left me with a lot of patterns but without much in the way of practical examples in order to drill them in to my neurology. After all,the way I see it, the whole point is that the patterns should become 2nd nature and appear naturally in your language.
In my opinion, this superb book has given us NLPers (and anyone else interested in persuasion) the "missing link".
In what I found to be a completely riveting style, Rintu not only provides numerous practical examples of the patterns, he actually uses those patterns in the course of teaching you those patterns! This provides instant drilling, plus automatic feedback that you have grasped the concepts when you realize you are picking up the patterns he has hidden in the book. I personally have found this invaluable in my mastery of the patterns.
As for the patterns themselves, the book is structured that new lessons are integrated with the old ones so you are mastering the whole skill-not isolated patterns- another benefit I have not found in other books.
In addition' I have found patterns described here that I have not seen in other NLP books. One of them is actually my most used pattern!
All in all this book is a winner and is an incredible addition,in my opinion, to anyones persuasion bookshelf.
How to prevent ending up stuck in communication
A fascinating aspect of consultancy and coaching is how to use language. The way people build language patterns determines their results. Rintu Basu's book invites people to master their skills in language patterns. The book is not only about theory; it's also about instructing and motivating the reader to practice these skills in real life situations. The way Basu achieves this is by instructing the readers step-by-step and pattern-by-pattern, with clear focus and outcome. As a reader, you would short change yourself by not taking the opportunity to do these exercises.
The book provides simple tools on how to get "unstuck" from a conversation that's "stuck" and to lead a stuck conversation into a new direction without offending the others that are involved. Out of all of the communications materials that I've read, this one illustrates a key point better than the others: communication is all about acknowledging others, as well as yourself, to avoid getting involved in a conversation that leads to miscommunication and misconception (which results in energy spent and energy wasted, going nowhere).
The ultimate goal of communication is to connect with others. This is such an important thing; why not take the effort to learn the skills to be as effective as possible when communicating? So - read the book, practice as much as you can and enjoy the results that you get! Overall, this book has helped me to bring my NLP skills to the next level.
