'Bustin on the DS3
The long awaited Ghostbusters video game proved well worth the wait on consoles, and naturally, it has found a place on the DS as well. Like its console counterparts, Ghostbusters on the DS features a dynamite script and plenty of other fan service to boot. Gameplay wise, things could be better. Segments of the game involve switching between the four various Ghostbusters, and there are driving moments as well. Sadly though, driving the Ecto 1 ends up being more of a pain than anything else thanks to the fact that things just get too sluggish here. Not to mention the variety of bugs and glitches don't really help matters either. Still, Ghostbusters on the DS looks good for a DS game, and the small offering of RPG elements here and there only add to the overall gameplay. All in all, if you own a DS and are a Ghostbusters fan, this game is worth checking out, but in the end, you're better off with the console versions of the game.

A must-have for Ghostbusters fans on the go5
As a longtime Ghostbusters fan I have to say I am extremely happy with the game (which I have for both DS and Wii) The DS version is great! It is not just a crappy port of the home console version. This is it's own game. In this version you're basically in charge of the Ghostbusters as if you were running the business. You have to bust ghosts to make money, which you then need to spend on R&D for ghostbusting equipment which helps you win during story missions. The game combines story missions with random missions (where you can decide to take them or not.) But if you decide not to take random missions, or choose to do something else instead, your reputation goes down and you get less calls, i.e. less money, and then you can't beat the story level because you couldn't afford to make new weapons. You have to earn "skills" unique to each Ghostbuster that will also help you advance in the story missions, this aspect also forces you to switch between Venkman, Spengler, Stantz, and Zeddemore. There is no "rookie" in this version, you control all four originals RPG style.
One thing I enjoy about both DS and Wii versions is that you have to solve problems yourself, there aren't a lot of hints lying around to make the game super easy for you (which is a problem I have with many "movie games"), and while the game isn't "hard" it's nice to have an adventure game that lets you use your brain instead of force feeding you hints every step of the way (I'm looking at you Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.)
Driving Ecto-1 is cool, and along with the upgrade system, and the business-like aspect of the game it reminds me of the old 1984 computer game version of Ghostbusters, but with modern graphics. The DS controls are executed very well, utilizing the stylus for your weapons, and the button controls for motion.
All in all I think this one's a keeper, after 20 years the GB franchise is finally giving something new to fans, and it doesn't disappoint!

It's Awsome that you catch alot of Ghosts5
I like this game! I just beat a giant marshmallow man and I already caught 194 ghosts. Although you might think its easy it's alot of fun catching a whole army of these things. There are also some cool enemies like giant scorpion snakes that come out of the ground. The game is easy and fun to play. I never got upset with it and never wanted to throw my nintendo against a wall. I've been playing it for about 2 days. You get to control all the ghostbusters and drive the ecto 1. If you get annoyed with the music theme song you can press select and that stops the music. I'm 11 years old and I recommend this game to other kids.
