Helpful for a novice5
I am a novice gardener, and have found this book to be very helpful. It's divided into chapters including perennials, annuals, trees, shrubs, roses, and more. Then within those chapters is a month by month guide on how and when to plant them, fertilize them, care for them, etc. I like that there are also things written for the winter months so that you can always somehow be connected to your garden, even when it's cold and dark outside! A great guide and easy to understand. I recommend it!

Reading Melinda Myer's Month-by-Month Gardening in Minnesota is a complete joy. She spells out a game plan for gardening year round. If you're from Minnesota or nearby, this volume is invaluable. Even during the coldest months, Melinda recommends things to do to get ready for the full blown gardening seasons spring, summer, and fall. I love the way she talks to me in your writing; not talking down to me. What a gem!
