Christ In Training is an adventure of self-discovery. The teachings of Jesus are a guide for the journey, but the real understandings come when the reader accepts the challenge to delve deeper into his/her consciousness to more fully understand these principles of Spirit and to practice them in daily life. The Christ is the representation of the yearning in all of us for wholeness, fullness, completion, peace of mind, and inner harmony. You and I and everyone we meet is Christ In Training. This manuscript details the discovery of spiritual power, and reveals the universal identity of the Spirit of God, the Christ Spirit in all of us. Most books approach the subject of Christ in either a linear and traditionally Christian way, or in a New Age context that sometime bears little resemblance to the Christianity with which most people are familiar. Christ In Training, however, presents a distinctive view of the person of Jesus, a non-traditional approach to New Testament Scripture, and a contemporary exploration of the teachings of the Master. These subjects are presented in ways which go beyond established views, along with emphasizing that becoming the Christ is a universal goal for everyone. There are many people who are looking for a path that reflects their Christian roots, but in non-traditional ways. There is potential in this book for mainstream Christians open to other approaches, students of the Course In Miracles, those involved in addictions recovery, and any seekers wanting to integrate the essence of the teachings of Jesus into their lives. The book reflects some of my own spiritual journey which, to say the least, has been wonderful and varied. It has included 27 years in a Roman Catholic religious order; continuing 12 step recovery; work as a chaplain and counselor in treatment facilities and currently in private practice; the practice and study of psychology and comparative religions; and presently, my partnership with Unity Church through Unity of Louisville as a part-time associate minister.

Profound wisdom
Christ In Training
Highly recommended! In this step-by-step guide to discovering yourself, Gerry Boylan walks with us down a serene path of practical spirituality. It's a book that I wanted to finish in one sitting, because each page opened up yet another truth in my life - things that I had intuitively known, but that were somehow always hidden from my conscious self. A new and fresh revelation of Christianity, focusing on Christ within each of us in our daily lives. Simple, and yet deeply profound.
An inspirational read
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book.So much useful information shared in an interesting concise manner, making this book a valuable reference selection. The personal stories were powerful examples of Mr. Boylan's life journey of "getting to God"....."Christ in Training"
A Superb Resource, A Well Told Tale, A Delightful Journey
I found this a book that I come back to over and over. I have told stories from it in Sunday talks (known in some circles as sermons) and found it to be a great resource for my personal spiritual journey as well. I'm not surprised that another reviewer, a Buddhist, found it an accessible piece of work, and the title should not deter non-Christians as its truths are universal. The lessons in this book, and there are many, are sometimes subtle, sometimes layered and there to peel like the onion of our own self awareness, and always worth noticing. Thank you Gerry Boylan for this gift to your fellow travelers on this spiritual journey.
