The fundamental distinction between reality and illusion is the liberating, life-affirming basis of "A Course in Miracles." The better we can grasp reality and illusion, then, the more effectively we can practice the path of the Course.

This book is my attempt to communicate my current understanding of this topic. It is meant to be understandable to anyone, including those new to the Course. My hope, however, is that it will help clarify things even for long-time students.

About the Author
Robert Perry brings to "A Course in Miracles" many years of private study and public teaching. His teaching grows out of his dedication to the Course as his own spiritual path and his desire to help others on their journey along this path.

He is an internationally respected voice in the Course world, writing for many Course publications and teaching extensively throughout North America and abroad. Perry is the founder of the Circle of Atonement Teaching and Healing Center in Sedona, Arizona, and is the author of numerous books about the Course, uncluding the popular "An Introduction to 'A Course in Miracles'."

Quest for Truth
As the author of a spiritually-themed novel entitled "The Misadventures of Sister Mary Olga Fortitude," I am always on the outlook for books that provide food for my soul. This book definitely hit the mark!

Reality and Illusions is a wonderful book for the spiritual seeker. It is a good primer for anyone who is interested in learning about The Course in Miracles. This is because the Course can be hard to understand. In contrast, this book makes many of the course's concepts easier to grasp. Whether or not the reader wishes to pursue the course, this is a well-written book that will provide food for spiritual thought and enlightenment.

You need to have an open mind in order to embrace some of the concepts that this book and the course have to present. What is real is heaven and that is not the place in which we live. The life that we perceive is maintained to be simply an illusion. What this means is that one can look upon this life as a classroom. As the student of life continues on his or her spiritual quest, illumination to greater truths about reality will surface.

This is a book filled with hope. It helps to place into perspective many of the troubling things within this life. It will help the reader to appreciate the difference between living a life based upon ego or finding the way to a life based upon spirit.

If the reader has problems getting into the book, I urge you to be patient. The last several chapters of the book are excellent. If you are looking for the meaning of truth, this is as good a place as any to start. Once you have read it, you will begin to see that most of what you thought to have been true was only an illusion.
