A Course in Miracles is a modern spiritual teaching that has become the path to God of thousands of people. The Course employs a unique use of language in which it fills familiar terms with new--often radically new--meaning. This has the double effect of making its language initially confusing yet eventually transformative. Hence the need for a glossary, which can help the student graduate from that initial confusion into experiencing the full psychological effect of the Course's language and teaching.
Containing nearly 200 definitions of Course terms, word pairs and phrases, this glossary is intended both for beginning students and more experienced students and can aid both individual and group study.

From the Author
I find what A Course in Miracles does with words amazing. It redefines familiar words in a way that makes each one into a miniature teaching unto itself. For this reason, I love doing word studies in the Course, and this book gave me an excuse to do a couple hundred of them.
About the Author
Robert Perry has been a student of A Course in Miracles (ACIM) since 1981. He taught at Miracle Distribution Center in California from 1986 to 1989, and in 1993 founded the Circle of Atonement in Sedona, Arizona. The Circle is an organization composed of several teachers dedicated to helping establish the Course as an authentic spiritual tradition. One of the most respected voices on ACIM, Robert has traveled extensively, speaking throughout the U.S. and internationally. In addition to contributing scores of articles to various Course publications, he is the author or co-author of twenty books and booklets, including Return to the Heart of God and Path of Light: Stepping into Peace with 'A Course in Miracles.' Robert's goal has always been to provide a complete picture of what the Course is--as a thought system and as a path meant to be lived in the world on a daily basis--and to support students in walking along that path.

A Staff for the Path
This is an excellent little glossary for some of the Course's more difficult terms and phrases. And let's face it, there are a bunch of them. You can't learn what you can't understand.
Robert Perry is one of the keenest minds focused on ACIM today. Just as importantly, he's one of the clearest writers. If you're already on the path of A Course in Miracles, or thinking of starting down it, invest in this companion book for the sake of clarity and gentle, lucid guidance.
Perry offers you definitions of not just what a term means within the teaching of the Course, but also what it means historically, conventionally and in Christianity. There's just no confusion; I still refer to it often.
The Course is a map to inner peace and fulfillment, to the actual experience of God here and now in day to day life. This key to that map is offered by someone who has been there before you and actually knows the Way.
As I've said in other reviews, my experience with Circle Publishing's books has been overwhelmingly positive. Their Workbook Commentaries are excellent and Path of Light is a great support book for students, would-be students and the simply curious. The value-per-dollar spent could hardly be tilted more in your favor.
Peace to you.
A disappointment
I am a serious student of A Course in Miracles and anticipated the Glossary of Terms to be a great help in making the Course easier to understand and to practice. While the Glossary does offer some insight into the more complex issues of the Course, I was disappointed in the final product. Like many dictionaries, it repeats the word but often doesn't give any more enlightenment as to the meaning, and in this case, the meaning as it applies to the Course.
