Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com Product Description
Shoes can get unruly pretty quick on the floor of bedroom closets. This revolving shoe tree makes it easy to get them off the floor and organized--no more scuffed or crushed shoes due to stacking. The unit holds up to 18 pairs of shoes on three vertical storage tiers. Each tier's height is adjustable to fit different sizes of shoes, and the revolving rack makes shoes simple to find. Constructed from heavy-duty chrome-plated steel, the convenient shoe organizer is weighted at the bottom to prevent tipping, but is lightweight enough to easily move from one place to another. Taking up less than a foot of space, it fits neatly into any corner. Assembly is required. Fully assembled, the shoe tree measures 12 by 12 by 38 inches.

Style meets function: Perfect for tiny spaces and big feet! 5
Pleasantly surprised! I was a little skeptical about this item, as I have big feet (wmns size 10/11), and most standard shoe racks do not accommodate my shoes. Because the trees are easily vertically adjusted, you can fit any size shoe, from sneakers, high heels, sandals to thongs/flip flops (see photos I added).
Assembly was very quick and easy - very detailed instructions that took no tools and approx 4 minutes to assemble. The base is sturdy, so little chance of tipping.
The unit (I bought 2) was taller and wider than expected, and does not fit into the space I had prepared side by side once the shoes are actually stacked. The closet in my photo measures 24Wx20D. With the shoes added to the item the actual width is approx. 15 inches, and you need at least an inch for twirling purposes. So add about 4 inches (16 inch total) to the width if buying to fit into a specific space. If using 2 units to go side by side you'll need a minimum 32 inch clearance.
I'd definitely recc this item, as it has freed up so much valuable floor space! Now all my shoes are neatly stored out of sight in a small closet. If you are looking for a way to store and display your shoes, without having to rummage and dig for them - this unit offers great space saving and organization.
Amazon also has it for the lowest price so far...
PS- IF this item breaks down or stops functioning well, I promise to update this review.

UPDATE: 5/4/08 - Happy to report no problems, issues or defects to date...I'm back to order another one, this time the 24pr as a gift, so have taken the time to add a little update to my original review of the shorter 18pr item.
At the time of my 2005 purchase Amazon price was $19.99, the lowest price elsewhere was $39.99(!)+. Also, there was no 24pr style available. Not to mention the original product photo just showed the item and NO shoes lol! I have no idea what Amazon did with the photos I uploaded either? Will post again if I can, but figure I have since deleted them.
The only tweak/change I have to the racks is: it has become a great "clutch/strapless" purse handbag holder. I store my clutches, in the space between the shoes and middle rod, perfectly. Also, due to a bedroom that easily collects dust (1 rack stays in closet, 1 rack stays at side of bed, rotating each rack per season), I've had to add a clear dustcover (just recycle the bag included with your drycleaning or cut to size a clear garbage bag) to the unit as I have a lot of suedes.
3 years later, and happy to report I still stand by my original review!

Thank you to all who have voted in the past. I'm glad to see others enjoying this great lil' space saver as much as I am.

My closet clutter is at an end!5
One of my New Year's Resolutions was to declutter and organize my home. I started fulfilling that resolution by cleaning out my closet, but no matter how much progress I made it still looked messy due to my many pairs of shoes. (My husband has shoes, too, and his take up even more room.)

I saw this and was skeptical, given the amazing price, but I ordered it anyway. Oh, I am SO glad that I did! It took me less than 5 minutes to assemble it, and even then I could tell by the weight that this was not some flimsy product. Ten minutes later, my closet floor was shoe free!

As a prior reviewer noted, this holds sandals as well as regular shoes. My husband has size 13E shoes, and since the racks are adjustable, his shoes fit perfectly.

I bought two of these, so I actually had a couple of spare spaces. Know what I'm storing there? *Handbags*! Just slip the handles over where the shoes go and this turns into an accessory organizer, too!

Can't recommend it highly enough. You'll be glad you bought it.

Pretty good, but don't recommend for men's shoes3
This shoe holder is nice. There are a few small problems with it though. The "handle" comes out every time you pick the rack up by it. Also, it's hard to get the rows to turn, because the shoes hit one another from one level to another.
I have women's shoes, so I imagine it would be much more difficult if it were men's shoes which are much longer.
All in all the rack is nice. It's heavy duty metal. It doesn't take up a lot of space and certainly holds several pairs of shoes.
I just wouldn't recommend it for men's shoes. They're probably too wide and too long for this rack.
