About the Author
Ruthie Wornall is a busy lady whose everyday life demands simplicity wherever she can find it. She’s been happily married for 30 years, has two children and three grandchildren and resides in Kansas.
When she married, she could not cook and began collecting recipes with only 3 ingredients. Over the years, she’s turned her collection of recipes into a series of 12 cookbooks, each with recipe containing only 3 recipes.
Over the years, she has written food columns using her 3-ingredient recipes, has made TV and personal appearances across the Midwest and has preached simplicity wherever she goes.
Today she leads medical, missionary trips to Guanajuato, Mexico, writes culinary, murder mysteries, dotes on her new twin grandchildren and continues to cook using only 3 ingredients in each recipe.

Simple, quick, minimal cleanup - a winner
This is a great cookbook for those with little cooking experience. Most other cookbooks have one, or at the most two recipes per page because of the space needed for complex preparation instructions. That is not the case at all with this cookbook. These recipes are simple enough that they only require two to four sentences to explain how to prepare the dish from start to finish.
Of course, when you are limiting yourself to only three ingredients you find that you end up with a lot of side dishes and vegetable recipes. But, there are plenty of main dishes so a well-balanced meal can be prepared. A few of my favorites include Rosemary-Roasted Potatoes, Honey-Orange Glazed Chicken, and June Ballard's Cajun Chicken. To keep the ingredient list to just three the recipes take advantage of many mixes like box cake mixes or stuffing mixes. Basically it hits all the high points for the new or hurried cook - quick and easy to prepare, goof-proof, minimal cleanup, and tasty results.
Another nice feature is the section with complete menu suggestions. Ruthie Warnall has compiled a suggested Valentine Dinner Menu, Easy Dinner for New Brides, Easy Sunday Dinner, Quick Gourmet Dinner, Pot Roast Dinner, Turkey Dinner, Chicken Dinner, and Romantic Dinners for Special Occasions. Each of the dinners contains only items from the cookbook and so are all easy to prepare with minimal fuss.
Comb bound so it lies flat when you are working with it, it is a recommended read for new cooks (or college kids just out of the house) and those with a tight family schedule.
Best cookbook I own!
I got this cookboot about a month ago and love it. It's easy, affordable and tasty. My mom and boyfriend loved the Mexican Chicken bake, Honey-Glazed Ham, Frozen Lemonade Pie and my fave, Chilled Strawberry Soup. Tastes just like the soup we had on one of our cruises. I would highly recommend this book to anyone. I'm giving it to family and friends for Christmas- At their request!
If you can only have one cookbook, get this one
This is the book I give each of my kids when they get their own place. I know they won't starve or eat at fast food places every meal. It is excellent for beginning cooks. Kids can cook "real" food without in the least feeling like they've been given a "kid's cookbook". It's also wonderful for expert cooks! I am an experienced cook and have dozens of cookbooks, but this is the one I keep handiest. This is the one cookbook I take traveling when we stay in a lodge, condo or someplace with a kitchen. It's nice to cook and save a little money, but who wants to spend their vacation in the kitchen? It's also an excellent starting place to get easy, simple ideas of your own going.
