| "It certainly is my opinion that a book worth reading only in childhood is not worth reading even then." -- C. S. Lewis Having been a mommy of preschoolers for 36 years, I couldn't agree more! When I wrote my books The Mommy Manual and Mommy, Teach Me to Read! I had only to browse through our own now-very-crowded shelves to choose those I knew had stood the test of time. Remember, a book doesn't have to be explicitly Christian to communicate a Christian worldview. As for writers whose worldview is at odds with your own - at this formative stage of your children's lives, why bother? There's no shortage of good, solid children's literature available, so there's no reason to settle for less. See subcategories for my picks for each age group. More information on what to look for when choosing books for children are found in my two books below: | ||
