The film that started it all! I can't imagine what it was like to see this film for the first time when it first came out in 1968. Still extremely frightening, this film did more to influence the horror genre than any other film.

Far underrated sequel, this film is actually very, very good. It also contains some of the best gore effects in the series.

Terrible! Horrible! George Romero seems to have finally lost his touch. I cannot describe how little I liked (and was disappointed by) this film.

Next to John Carpenter's The Thing and David Cronenberg's The Fly, this is my favorite remake. Zack Snyder takes the premise of zombies attacking a mall and makes something completely new and original. Also has some amazing gore effects.

Very early zombie film from director Bob Clark, who went on to make A Christmas Story and Porkys, this low-budget entry was very much influenced by Romero's Night of the Living Dead, except with humor instead of political context.

Based on the amazing video game, this was originally set to be directed by George Romero. When that fell through, craptacular director P.T. Anderson (Mortal Kombat, Alien Vs. Predator) was brought in. Some cool effects doesn't save this mess of a film. Aside from the beautiful Mila Jovovich, there isn't much else to recommend.

Little known Italian horror/comedy involves Rupert Everett taking a job as a grave digger and slowly discovering it is infested with zombies.

Oh My God! This movie is so gross, disturbing and amazing, you can't help but love it. Includes one of the grossest scenes in movie history: a woman puking her intestines in a slow and disturbing manner.

One of my favorite Italian gore films, this film's effects are so bad that in one scene a man jumps out of a window and when he lands, the obvious manequin breaks in two on impact. Hilarious!

Very underated and little known zombie series that involves the ghosts/resurected corpses of the Knights Templar attacking villagers on the Italian countryside. Tombs of the Blind Dead is quite interesting in that it includes a softcore porno story of a lesbian affair.

A Japanese action/horror film that deals with a group of Yakuza who constantly bury their dead in the same forest, which happens to be hollowed ground and resurects their dead. Very gory and action packed!

A crazy Japanese zombie-punk film that follows rockabilly-punk band, Wild Zero as they fight against the zombie invasion.

Next to Frankenstein (1932), this classic Bela Lugosi film is one of the earliest to feature zombies. Not so much zombies in the classic film sense (or Romero-sense I guess), this film instead relies on the voodoo aspect. Very atmospheric and cool.

One of Hammer's less successful films, but still very relevant in the zombie genre. The zombie make-up is very cool and influencial on Fulci's and the Italian gorefests.
