I'm not a huge fan of Asian Horror, as I feel most are very poorly paced, and this one is no different. But gory kills, a very strong third act, and an awesome looking dream killer really pushed this to an above average movie.
13: Game of Death13: Game of Death
Buy new: $13.49 / Used from: $3.45
Speaking of Asian Horror, or maybe more suspense than horror. This one was really good, I enjoyed it quite a bit. Once the movie hit challenge 5 for the main character, I had to question that if I was playing the game, could I even physically do it? Very well done.
Welcome To the JungleWelcome To the Jungle
Buy new: $13.49 / Used from: $2.96
This movie was pretty slow, I mean, it takes an hour to even see the first cannibal, and the violence is hardly shown, you just see some aftermath. It ended pretty strongly though, making for an average watching experience. Good, but nowhere near great.
Feast II: Sloppy SecondsFeast II: Sloppy Seconds
Buy new: $11.49 / Used from: $1.80
I loved the first Feast, and this one definitely isn't as good, but I still enjoyed it. It was over the top and had plenty of gore, just the way a Feast movie should be. An inferior and yet worthy sequel at the same time. Recommended for fans and gorehounds.
The Wizard of GoreThe Wizard of Gore
Buy new: $13.49 / Used from: $2.97
This one was actually pretty painful to watch. It was just so slow and horrendously paced that not even a handful of Suicide Girls could make it interesting. Crispin Glover was wonderfully twisted and Jeffrey Combs was great in his very minor role. That's about it though, very poorly done movie otherwise.
The Killing GeneThe Killing Gene
Buy new: $13.49 / Used from: $1.92
Here we have a miscast serial killer movie. Don't get me wrong, the actors are great in their own right, but just not quite fitting for these roles. What you are left with is a clever but ultimately unsatisfying thriller. Again, good, but not even close to great.
Rogue - UnratedRogue - Unrated
Buy new: $10.99 / Used from: $1.50
A giant croc movie. You would think it was doomed to fail right there, but this is pretty good. I think the one major shortcoming we have here is that the director tries too hard to make the croc into the next Jaws, including the music that accompanies the beast. Great kills, including some silent, unseen ones that actually work mixed in with the gore drenched ones. Great movie.
Black Sheep (Unrated)Black Sheep (Unrated)
Buy new: $10.99 / Used from: $2.95
This is an undeniably fun movie, but I was hoping for a bit more from it. Still, with some nice gore, spotty humor, and great effects, you still have a very much above average movie. And the scene when all the sheep come barreling over the hill is just classic.
