I really enjoyed this sci-fi/horror film for what it was and didn't think it was bad at all. I really enjoyed the creepy special effects and imagery and I was very intrigued and interested in the storyline. I also really liked the performances of the actors. At least rent the film. RATING: 9
The SpiritThe Spirit
Buy new: $15.49 / Used from: $1.59
Critics absolutely despised The Spirit, and people were mixed about the film, but I really enjoyed this Frank Miller film. It was a funny, campy, action-packed film with style and creativity. RATING: 8.5
Ultraviolet (Unrated, Extended Cut)Ultraviolet (Unrated, Extended Cut)
Buy new: $8.49 / Used from: $0.29
This film did especially terrible, yet I still loved it. I loved the crazy and rather ludicrous action scenes, the very pretty CGI effects and Milla Jovovich, the music, the storyline, and its unique comic book feeling. RATING: 8.5
The HappeningThe Happening
Buy new: $7.49 / Used from: $1.82
This film did pretty awful on this site, yet I really liked this very bizarre film by M. Night Shyamalan. I was never really bored thanks to the interesting storyline and it felt unique and different from the usual Hollywood garbage. RATING: 8.5
GodzillaGodzilla
Buy new: $8.49 / Used from: $0.97
People really hated this American remake of the Japanese monster classic, but I got plenty of entertainment out of this film. It was a really fun, smart, and action-packed monster film that was never boring. Too bad it fared so poorly, though. RATING: 8.5
Automaton TransfusionAutomaton Transfusion
Buy new: $11.99 / Used from: $1.67
This was really fun B-movie zombie schlock, but it was hated greatly on this site. However, I couldn't get enough of this incredibly gory and fun zombie film. I loved every minute of watching this because it was just so awesome. RATING: 8.25
Fear Dot ComFear Dot Com
Buy new: $13.49 / Used from: $0.01
This film got horrible reviews from critics and moviegoers. Yet, there are a lot of things I really liked about it. I really liked the bizarre and creepy imagery, the mystery/ghost storyline was intriguing and well-written, the music was amazing, and I really didn't think the actors were bad. RATING: 8
Superhero Movie (Extended Edition)Superhero Movie (Extended Edition)
Buy new: $14.95 / Used from: $1.75
I actually enjoyed this parody film. This isn't the kind of parody that makes you want to die like Disaster Movie does, I actually found it funny and very enjoyable for what it was. For me, this film never really gets old to watch. RATING: 8
Eragon (Widescreen Edition)Eragon (Widescreen Edition)
Buy new: $10.99 / Used from: $0.97
This film is honestly not that bad. It was actually an enjoyable fantasy epic that never really got boring (Lord of the Rings was good, but way too long). I found this film to be a way better adaptation than the terrible Twilight film. RATING: 8
Day of the DeadDay of the Dead
Buy new: $13.49 / Used from: $1.93
This remake was generally hated, but I still really liked it. It may have been cheesy (Zombies can climb on walls and ceilings?), and Nick Cannon sucks, but the film has lots of gore, cool action scenes, and Mena Suvari to save it. I really liked this remake. RATING: 8
Boogeyman (Special Edition)Boogeyman (Special Edition)
Buy new: $13.49 / Used from: $0.01
Received many bad reviews from critics and moviegoers alike, but I still liked this horror flick. Though it does have plot holes, it did keep me entertained and I was never bored. RATING: 8
AVP - Alien Vs. Predator (Widescreen Edition)AVP - Alien Vs. Predator (Widescreen Edition)
Buy new: $12.99 / Used from: $0.01
I hated the second one, but enjoyed this film. Sure it was stupid, but it sure did have a lot of cool monster fights. It may not do anything special for this series, but it was still a stupid good time. RATING: 8
CursedCursed
Buy new: $13.49 / Used from: $0.18
Sure this got bad reviews, but I actually liked this supernatural thriller, it was a lot better than The Covenant (God, what an awful film that was) ever will be thanks to its fun humor and fun monster scenes. For the most part, it was entertaining. RATING: 8
Doom (Full Screen)Doom (Full Screen)
Buy new: $9.99 / Used from: $0.01
Sure it blatantly rips off ideas from Aliens and Resident Evil, but I actually liked where they took the storyline, and it featured a lot of bloody, awesome action scenes (Except the God-awful fight scene at the end which prevented me from giving it an 8). RATING: 7.5
The Zombie DiariesThe Zombie Diaries
Buy new: $14.95 / Used from: $2.55
Though flawed, and at times boring, this zombie film does a respectable job at being an uber realistic documentary zombie flick. It does take patience to get used to this film, but it will entertain when given to the right audience.
The Cave (Widescreen Edition)The Cave (Widescreen Edition)
Buy new: $12.49 / Used from: $0.13
While this film will never defeat the horror masterpiece that is The Descent, this is still a good film with beautiful set designs, awesome creature designs, and plenty of monster mayhem. It's not particularly well acted or written, but it's still good as an action flick. RATING: 7
House of the Dead 2: Dead AimHouse of the Dead 2: Dead Aim
Buy new: $13.49 / Used from: $1.98
This film is a blatant rip-off of Resident Evil: Apocalypse and the remake of Dawn of the Dead, but this was still a good zombie flick, even if a good portion of the time it was unintentionally funny. It's worth viewing at least once. RATING: 7
Darkness Falls (Special Edition)Darkness Falls (Special Edition)
Buy new: $11.99 / Used from: $0.97
This film may not have been very well received, but it's still pretty entertaining and has interesting concepts behind it. While the acting isn't all that good, I really liked the story and the ghost attacks from a freaky tooth fairy of death. RATING: 7
Year One (Theatrical & Unrated Edition)Year One (Theatrical & Unrated Edition)
Buy new: $20.49 / Used from: $3.75
This film was hated by critics and divided fans of Jack Black and Michael Cera. I will say that they are the only reason this film gets saved, but it wasn't bad and provided some pretty good jokes and humor. I was somewhat disappointed, but I had a good time with this film. RATING: 7
House of the DeadHouse of the Dead
Buy new: $9.98 / Used from: $0.44
This film was just so bad and so stupid... it entertained me! Everything is stupid to the extreme, and yet I liked it. I loved the ludicrous zombie shootouts and the laughable dialogue. This film is certainly one of my guilty pleasures. RATING: 6.5
