![]() | Red Harvest by Dashiell Hammett
Buy new: $9.23 / Used from: $1.98 One of my favorite books of all time. Here we have Hammet's first novel featuring the Continental Op's detective with No Name. This violent story of a corrupted town was the inspiration for a few major films, (Kurosawa's Yojimbo, and Leone's Fistfull of Dollars). Pick it up and you wont be able to put it down.

![]() | Double Indemnity by James M. Cain
Buy new: $9.36 / Used from: $0.42 Short, simple, and easy to read. This book can easily be read in one sitting. Many consider the film to be far better (Directed by Billy Wilder, written by Raymond Chandler), but wait to you read the ending of this one.

![]() | The Murder of Roger Ackroyd: A Hercule Poirot Mystery (Agatha Christie Collection) by Agatha Christie
Buy new: $8.64 / Used from: $1.81 A masterpiece in Christie's classic "whodunit style", that will leave you guessing until the very end. My Favorite Hercule Poirot mystery.

![]() | The Killer Inside Me by Jim Thompson
Buy new: $9.86 / Used from: $4.88 A haunting, psychological thriller written in the first person by the killer himself. Thompson's most disturbing and believable novel brings the reader deep into a small texas town, and into the mind of a serial killer. The consistency isnt there, but this book picks up about halfway through, and grabs the reader until the last page.
