Stunning Tour de force from Harry Gregson-Williams - this score has everything: romance, action, beauty and threat. Should've won the Best Score Category for 2005 or at least been nominated.

A rich and complex score that blends mystery, horror and fantasy to wonderful effect. The central lullaby theme is delicate and beautiful, the strings lush and the brass powerful. The film is pretty damn decent too.

The darker second part to the Complete Lord of the Rings. Now just waiting for number three.

Rousing and bombastic action score. Zimmer lets loose with excellent melodies and some of the most truly enlivening music is a while.

Badelt's asian masterpeice. Shrugging off the Media Ventures associations he has created a powerful main theme and incorporated ethnic voices and instruments.

Herrmanesque strings and red herrings abound but it is the tender moments that make this score.

The best music ever written for television. Every emotional possible is packed into this series/score, although the highlight is the final two tracks.

Following Hans Zimmer's approach to Black Hawk Down it merges electronics and rock elements with ethnic vocals and orchestra. Exciting stuff.

Despite protests this music is undeniably fun and exciting - exactly what you want from the Pirates series. Although this album release could've been much better and quite a lot of material was left out. What ever you do skip the Tiesto remix! It will kill you.
