Not the best..but???
This maybe alright for some but I found it kept slipping down to my ankle though it NEVER came undone, nor was I ever in danger of losing it...just constantly stopping to tighten the straps.
Still..I'm not fond of the neck ones, the waist ones do not fit under well fitting jeans, so it basically served its purpose. I think with a little redesigning, such as possibly longer straps that wrapped totally around ones upper ankle to keep it more secure, they'd have a real winner. Still, in truth, I'd probably use it again...as I said, there was never any likehood of it falling off.
Hint...don't even attempt to wear thru customs, while it doesn't set off alarms, if you're searched it'll hold you up...plus, not the easiest place to retrieve ones passport from!
Excellent Alternative to Waist Belts
I wore this for several days while on a trip to the U.K. It was quite a bit more comfortable than I expected; to the point where I often forgot I was wearing it. Certainly, it was much more comfortable that a hidden waist belt and more accessible than a neck pouch worn under the shirt. There is plenty of room for a passport, cash, and credit cards. The elastic straps clasp by velcro, so no personal adjustment is required. The velcro is very secure
As shown in the photo, it is meant to be strapped above and below the calf, so you do have to hike your pants or trousers up to your knee if you want to get into the top pocket. If you are wearing loose trousers, this is not so much of a problem. However, if you are wearing jeans or tighter trousers, it is virtually impossible to get into the top pocket. In any case, dignity is out the window. I found that the straps were long enough to wear the product upside down so that access was much easier.
If you expect to access the belt often (i.e., use it instead of pockets) or are concerned about hiking up the leg of your trousers or pants, this may not be the product for you. However, if want a place to keep your travel documents, credit cards, and main stash of cash and are not so concerned about the pants leg thing, this is a comfortable and secure alternative to waist belts and neck pouches.
works great
I ordered 2 of these for use while traveling to a country that has commonplace pickpocketing and accosting. A regular money belt isn't good enough in places like that because folks will feel around your waist, or quickly lift up your shirt to expose the belt/belt strap itself. So, the leg safe money belt works best when traveling to places like that.
The description on amazon is accurate. It does say "elasticized straps with fabric grip tabs". The straps are elastic (firm, not excessively stretchy). And the "grip tabs" are really velcro tabs.
I tried one on, and it fit snug (I pulled the straps so they were snug). I'm 5'9" and weight 160 pounds. It did not slide down my leg. It is meant to be worn above the calf. The top strap fits above the calf; the bottom strap fits below the calf. I have calves, not cows. So, there is no problem with the leg safe fitting on my leg. Also, since I have regular calves, it will not slide down my leg, because it fits around the calf. If you have really skinny legs with no defined calf, then it will probably slide down.
It seems well made. The zippers work smoothly. The material is similar to fabric waist money belts.
It does have 3 zipped compartments as described. The credit card pouch is just an extra pocket inside one the zipped compartments.
I am very pleased with this purchase, and I would buy these again (if i had to).
