Customer Reviews
Good item, but doesn't fulfill all the promises
"Liverpool 8" is an excellent piece of good old rock'n'roll music, and I was so excited when this USB wristband appeared; it was such a great idea to use this new format in this digital music days. I do, however, think the publicity was somewhat misleading. What the USB actually contains is: (1) the full CD; (2) 7:45 video with making of; (3) pdf for the CD main and back cover; (4) two ringtones. There is NOT actualy track-by-track commentary, personal video message, photos or bios, let alone "and more" as the package says, although, with a certain amount of generosity, some of it can be seen on the making-of. While it's a nice item, I feel it brought less than promised. Neverthless, I loved this wristband idea, and I do think it's pointing a possible new direction for commercializing music in digital format. It was inventive, and the wristband looks great. The music itself says it all by itself: Ringo continues to be His Drum Majesty, and what I liked the most is that, besides the necessary beatle-sound, he dares a little bit more on some of the tracks, such as "Love is"and "Pasodobles".
Very Unique!!
What a neat little item and what an interesting format!! No need to repeat what others have said about what's on the wristband. It's obvious. But this is a GREAT album and this is a great collectible! It's this kind of thinking that gives a badly needed jolt to the music industry. And I'm glad that it was one of the industries giants who pioneered this!
Ringo Rocks
Just got my USB of Ringos new album sent to me in the UK. Well over here we have Ringo overload as he hasnt been here to promote anything for years. He did a one off concert in Liverpool to launch the city as the 2008 capital of european culture. Anyway back to the album which is good and well produced by Dave Stewart. Its a bit like when George teamed up with Jeff Lynn to put his music back on track. But the USB is disapointing as it dosnt have the track by track coments by Ringo that it says it has, just the music a short doc, ring tones and the art work. So beware, a good idea but bad delivery.
