Customer Reviews

Good Design, cheap parts used for production. Doesn't last.2
I have purchased several of these adapters. I run my hose off of one side and the other feeds my drip irrigation systems.

The unit is reliably safe to use for only ONE season.

Parts that have failed:

Interior ball valves:
--over time won't shut completely

Plastic valve handles:
--after a few months they become brittle and prone to break.

Black "rubber" hose:
--does not handle pressure. After a few weeks of use, when I turn off the valve at the end of the hose the black hose back on this unit starts to balloon. Eventually it fatigues and bursts.

I like the design of this product but it seems that the use of cheap Chinese components have failed the designers. I expected more for my $20 purchase price.

Lasts a while, then it's downhill from there4
We bought this for our yard about three years ago. For the first year of use it worked quite well. It's quite ergonomically friendly, particularly the switches on the outlets and the plastic-encased brass nozzle attachment. It worked very well. However, as the gray main body of the "Y" is plastic, over time mechanical and possibly temperature-related wear-and-tear cause the gray plastic to break, slowly introducing leaks that eventually degraded the overall function of the unit. It took just over two years. I should say that we did leave it outdoors in a Michigan winter, and that may be part of what went wrong. Others may have better experiences than I.

The product is great but...4
I purchased one of these adapters at my local hardware store and the product is great! It's easy to use, doesn't leak, is highly visible and the only downside that I had with it was the price tag (13.99 + tax) at the local store.
I got online did my research and found that Amazon was offering them at the cheapest price anywhere @ 10.99 so I ordered 4 of them on June 27th 2005 and it is now August 19th and I just recieved my fourth delay message. They are "expecting" that I should recieve them in early September but it has honestly become a joke in my home as to when\if they will actually arrive.

Nelson gets kudos on thier product...
