Exactly what I was looking for.
When I was scanning the internet for a retractable gate, I was plesantly surprised with the unit I bought. It was delivered to me as promised and I set it up the same day I got it and it is functioning wonderfully.

Great for young kids and steep driveways
The driveway guard works great where our driveway starts to go downhill. It keeps balls and other toys from going into the road. Though it is not intended to "catch" children, it is in fact a visual and physical barrier.
Sometimes it doesn't completely retract all the way back into itself, but other than that it is constructed pretty well. This is actually our second driveway guard because the UPS driver backed into the first one. We had the first guard for two years prior to that. We have been very happy with the product and would recommend purchasing one.
