Works fine, except4
The counting concept is very straightforward but the counter button is not lockable so it has a tendency to advance itself while in your bag. If you are not counting three different things you can advance the counter forward to "protect" your settings (i.e. leave #3 in the active window, so if it advances you won't care.)

Keep a spare battery around.

Great little luxury knitting tool4
I've had this electronic row counter for over a year and really enjoy it. I have tried many types of row counters out there and this one is a nice luxury item. It has three independent counters. It sounds hard at first, but once you understand the concept (and try it a few times), it's very easy and quite handy.

It is not complicated to use:

- Rotate between the counters by clicking the "S" button (on the left). A small 1, 2 or 3 will be displayed on the side indicating which counter. The current count/tally will be displayed in very large numbers for that counter. You can't miss it.

- Add rows by clicking the large center up button.

- Subtract rows by clicking the smaller center down button.

- View the count for all three counters, but the active/current one will be displayed the largest.

- Reset each counter independently by clicking the "R" button.

Each counter can display numbers up to 9999. It comes with a ribbon lanyard if you want to hang it around your neck. The lanyard can be easily unbuckled from the unit, which is what I have done. It also beeps every time you click a button, but you can easily turn the sound off (hold the reset button for 3 seconds).

The downside is that it is a little pricey and there is no off or lock button. The unit is always on, but a fresh battery should last at least 12 months. It uses a watch battery (CR2032) which can be replaced by the user after unscrewing the one screw with a #0 Philips screwdriver.

This is a nice luxury item for the knitter or crocheter.

This is a great tool. I especially like having the ability to count several things at once and to count backwards.
