Great color - too creamy
First off, the Nars color Scarlet Empress is so perfect.
If you have an olive skintone it reads as a fierce dark almost red while looking kind of plum violet on anyone with a pink skintone. Looked fabulous on my medium black friend.
Soo beautiful, quite classic film star.

Alas, if you have oily skin(as I do) this tends to feather out and fade off after a few good hours.
Starts out perfect then gets rather like a lipgloss and smears a bit on the lips.

If you're going out to dinner and wold have to take it off before dining then this is fine.
Also, if you have dryer skin, it would most likely stay put.

Very true to the 'in the tube' color - no odd changes!

If possible, I highly recommend trying it out for a test run before purchasing.

Nothing Special
I love Nars lipsticks and having lips that tend to dry or crack easily am always looking for just the right lip therapy. I certainly didn't find it here. This imparted very little moisture and did little to improve the condition of my lips. I don't like a very glossy lip treatment for day because my lipstick won't stay put so I found the consistancy of this okay. The problem was it barely did anything. To wear alone and at night after I've taken off my make-up I have much better results with Rosebud Lip Salve for $5.50. For something to wear under lipstick Caudalie makes a good lip conditioner. If you're looking for lips in noticably better condition skip Nars Lip "Therapy."

Too Much Melon
This is a nice enough lip balm but I found it tasted way too much of melon for me. I didn't think it was anything out of the ordinary where lip balm is concerned but if you like melon then you'll probably love this, especially if you're tired of the berry/vanilla/mint flavors most lip balms seem to come in.
