MY WIFE LOVES THIS
Bought this with an Amazon Reward. My wife loves Biking/Hiking. She loves this item. Very good Quality.
Great hydration pack for my daughter.
I love all Camelbak products, and this little pack doesn't disappoint. I purchased it for my 8 year old daughter to go camping/hiking. I got the bright pink one, which is nice cause you can see that thing from miles away! She's a petite little girl, but the pack fits her perfectly. I like that she has her own water too, and she loves the idea of participating in carrying a little bit of her own gear like the adults. Awesome pack for your kids, I really don't have any cons for it.
Absolutely wonderful, even for the little ones!
After almost six years of toting around a giant diaper bag, I decided it was time to share the joy! Seriously though, after my 6 year old son became fascinated by his father's Camelbak, I thought it would be a neat gift for him to have his own. After all, he plays pretty hard in the hot Texas sun and we have started making day trips to the area's state parks. Even though I thought it might be too big and cumbersome for my 4 year old daughter, I went ahead and got her one too because otherwise I'm sure she would always be trying to borrow her brother's. I didn't want to deal with the constant struggle and figured she could just grow into it. Well, they both love them and it actually adjusts to fit my daughter well--so well, in fact that I went ahead and bought one for my three year old! For my youngest, I'm very careful to not overload it and generally don't fill the water to full capacity.
The kids love the storage and carry their own essentials. There are three storage spaces aside from the one in which the Camelbak bladder is stored. There is a reasonable amount of space in the main compartment, enough for a small person's summer weight change of clothes (great for water park or swimming days) and a lunch. I also fit in a nature journal and watercolor pencil set for my oldest. The front has a smaller space for a snack or whatever other items a kiddo might see as necessities. In between the main compartment and the smaller front compartment is an expandable open storage area, a good place for clothes once wet. My daughter likes to put her small doll in it. As I describe all this storage, I don't want to make it seem like this pack is excessively large because it's really a very nice, compact size for kids to carry. It's just well-designed. It holds a lot without taking up a lot of space.
I am very impressed with this Camelbak and know that the kids will get years of use out of it. My husband's is going strong after years...I can't remember how many, so a long time, definitely making it worth the price. I feel certain the Mini Mules will prove their value over time as well. I actually got myself the Camelbak Day Star based on the usefulness of my kids' packs. It is so wonderful for us all to be hands-free while still carrying so many essentials as we enjoy the parks!
