Many chant the Om mantra, however, this CD was created without human voice, in the Musical Key of Om, and focuses instead on the voices heard in nature through wind instruments and animals sounding. Listen to the heralding of the Armenian duduk, the haunting voice of the didgeridoo, the whisper of the Native American Flute, the whale's song... Tantric Buddhist scripture tells us that Om is the most powerful vibration. The Om frequency is based on the elliptical orbit of the earth as it travels around the sun through 4 seasons. Therefore, Om can be thought of as our "Musical Center of Gravity." Listen for relaxation, stress reduction, while meditating, and practicing Yoga.

From the Artist
In 2002 my Sound Healing students requested I create a composition that would harmonize with Ohm based Tuning Forks. This is where the idea began for the composition, There's No Place Like Ohm, first released in 2003. In this recording I explored the concept of creating an entire musical composition in the key of Ohm (Om), a healing earth tone. Both Volumes of this work were created during my healing journey from cancer, and were especially rich experiences for me as I turned to nature and sounds of the earth for personal healing. -Marjorie de Muynck

About the Artist
Visionary, Composer and Sound Designer Marjorie de Muynck Accomplished musician and sound healer, Marjorie de Muynck is a founder of the Acutonics® Sound Healing System and the Kairos Institute of Sound Healing. She also co-authored the book, Acutonics: There's No Place Like Ohm: Sound Healing, Oriental Medicine and the Cosmic Mysteries." Marjorie taught Shiatsu, Hara Diagnosis, Kundalini Yoga, Reiki and Acutonics at the Northwest Institute of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Seattle. She also co-developed a healing treatment called Harmonic Attunement, which incorporates using cosmically tuned symphonic gongs, tuning forks, didgeridoos, Tibetan bowls and bells. A graduate of the Seattle Shiatsu Institute with an extensive background in Oriental Medicine, Marjorie is currently in the Masters of Music program at Boston University. She has been a performer and composer for dance, film and performance groups for over 30 years, and was an original member and founder of the Billy Tipton Memorial Saxophone Quartet. A specialist in wind instruments, Marjorie performed Native American flute on the Yoga Instructional Video Strength and Spirit with renowned yoga instructor Ana Forest, and is the creator of There's No Place Like Ohm CDs -original and pioneering explorations of music in the key of Ohm- and other innovative Ohm sound healing tools.

The best in meditation and relaxation music!
This CD was a gift to me on my graduation from massage school, from a friend who is an acupuncturist. I regularly use it in my practice (as does my friend), and have found absolutely no other music that produces the profound relaxation effect that this does.

There is a deep, subtle drone throughout the CD, which I understand to be the vibratory sound of the planet Earth. Each track includes a different theme of Life on this planet. Together, the effect is hypnotic, haunting, uplifting, relaxing, spiritual, expanding, and meditative. It is also simply beautiful music.

Clients who have heard this for the first time during a massage will often dreamily comment afterward, "Wow! What WAS that?!" I often find myself "zoning in" to the music, and have given my best massages while this CD was playing.

I also listened to this recently while having dental work done, and by the time I left, the dentist wanted copies for the office, and for use during airline flights.

There's really no way to describe it adequately, and it's a shame there are no sound clips here to give an idea of what it sounds like. My only disappointment is that it is less than an hour long; I find myself wanting more.

Not recommended for use while driving. Strongly recomended for use in meditation, or for relaxation!

Getting "in tune" with Mother Earth
Listening to this CD is a comprehensive living experience. If you are quiet with it, and give it your attention, it will remind you of who you are and where you came from. The sounds and rhythmic patterning seem to come from within your own being and at the same from within the earth itself, the sea itself, the vibratory life of the planet. It effects you on the deepest level. The creator of this music is obviously a gifted musician and has a deep relationship with the world we live in, below and beyond the frenzy of day to day. She has gifted us with a clear reminder of what "makes us tick" in our innermost heartscapes.
