Editorial Review
The toy industry can be as fickle as fashion design. The hottest toy of one year's holiday season can often be found in the heavily discounted clearance section mere months later. But through all the fads and trends, Play-Doh remains just as popular as ever. This comprehensive set features six cans of the Doh itself along with plastic rolling pins, scissors, extruding tools, and cookie cutter molds. But perhaps the set's best feature is one that may go overlooked: it's all stored in an incredibly convenient big plastic barrel with a sealable lid. Play-Doh, for all its numerous virtues, does tend to dry out over time as those little plastic cans are often accidentally left open. But if young modelers can just get the goo back in the barrel and close the lid, it should stay moist and pliable enough for future use. --Charlie Williams

Hours and hours of fun....
Looking to entertain your children at a small price? Answer: PlayDoh! We already own the George Foreman Grill which is great for our little chefs in the house and this "barrel 'o fun" is an added bonus. It's crazy to see what the minds of twin 3 1/2 year old boys and an 18 month old girl can create! The barrel contains six cans of the Doh, in various colors, along with plastic rolling pins, scissors, cookie cutter molds and hours of fun! The molds are sturdy and the scissors are so safe that they probably couldn't cut a piece of hair in half.
I have such great memories of playing with this stuff when I was small. It's nice to see some toys can stand the test of time!
Can't go wrong with Play-Doh!
We bought this toy for our 7 children last Christmas and they are STILL playing with it! If they are bouncing off of the walls, I can always bring out the play-doh bucket and they are quiet for at least 45 minutes, which is priceless. The bucket is durable and it's very easy to just toss everything in and screw on the lid when they're done.
great starter set
I bought this for my son for Christmas, but decided to give it to him early. He needed something to occupy him on a cold, rainy day and I must admit that I love Play-doh myself. This is a nice started set to introduce your child to Play-doh or a good gift for a child who is already a Play-doh fan. There are enough pieces for at least 2 kids to play with without arguing.
This set comes with 4 full sized cans of doh (purple, blue, yellow, and mint green) and 2 smaller cans (hot pink and white). I would recommend getting more colors personally. It also comes with 6 cookie cutters (circle, square, rectangle, triangle, heart, and star, the fun factory extruder with two of the shape maker thingies that you attach to the end, a smaller type syringe extruder with 2 shape maker things for it, a knife, scissors, and two shape things with holes that you push the doh out of to make 'hair'(one is a centipede, one looks kind of like a mole or possum, not sure), there is nothing to push it out with, just use your fingers. It is all packaged in a clear plastic barrel with a SCREW ON lid, not a snap on lid like the yellow buckets. The screw on lid is a great idea as it keeps the doh soft even if you don't put it in the individual jars. Of course, all play-doh will dry out eventually no matter what you do, so plan on buying more fairly often. It's cheap, so it's not a big deal. Nothing lasts forever.
All in all, this is a cool set. We actually prefer the food-themed sets like the Make-a-meal bucket. The stuff tastes pretty nasty so it wasn't hard to teach my son not to actually eat it.
