A "must" for out-of-vehicle use4
Garmin nuvi 880 4.3-Inch Widescreen Bluetooth Portable GPS NavigatorThe 880 is great, when used indoors planning a trip, or on the road "executing" the trip. You can hook it up to 110 VAC, or 12 VDC. But, in between or out of the car at destination, Watch Out! The 880 battery is stated as being good for only five (5) hours. So, I pack a spare battery for the 880 GPS (and a different one for my cell phone) whenever I go out of the immediate vicinity of my rural home. Both the GPS and the cell phone batteries are a pain to charge. You have to install them in their units, and then charge the units. The Nuvi battery is a little awkward to get out (don't force it, it comes out easy if you do it right) but easy to reinstall.

Of course, if I know I'm going to be away from the car, in the woods, I take along another Magellan which works great in the woods, but has too small a screen for driving.

Battery Review5
Good buy. I purchased extra batteries because in some of the cars I drive I am unable to charge my Nuvi 850. Once the battery is exhausted I just change it. It is easy to do and the batteries are not too bulky and easily fit in a carrying case.

Shouldn't It Hold A Charge3
Love Garmin, especially their support, but a little disappointed with this battery. Find that if I keep it as a spare outside the gps, it loses its charge in a week or so. Maybe this is normal. Just didn't realize the need to swap batteries regularly to make sure the spare is charged. Let me know if this the norm with lithium ion batteries. Have a new netbook and I'm wondering if the same is going to be true for it.
