Outstanding Idea/Instruction Book for Textile Artists5
I think this is an outstanding book by Maggie Grey and Val Campbell-Harding. I just bought an embellisher, so appreciated the section dealing with this new tool. I know the art style isn't for everyone, but it is just the ticket for my taste.

ps: I wanted to add something to this review, as I realize that I didn't give enough information initially. I have been cutting back on my art/craft book buying lately. I own literally hundreds of books, and think it's time to sit back and use what I've got before adding any more. Despite that, I checked this book out of the library one day and ordered it from Amazon the very next day. I think that any textile artist who is ready to stretch his/her wings and experiment in new directions will get not only super ideas - but excellent instruction. I would not recommend any book unless I truly believe that others would find it at least inspiring, and hopefully both inspiring AND including some good working information. I know that the textile art world encompasses many diverse styles; from traditional handwork to outrageous experimentation. This book is for the experimental end of the spectrum and would put off most traditionalists. However, if you find yourself thinking you might like to play in the sandbox with some new tools, this book is a good place to land.

Good book, could use a few more ..4
how to instructions. It is more in an outline format, with lots of gorgeous photos of finished pieces, but only one set of how to photos in the last part of the book. Still worth buying for the good ideas.

Stitch, Dissolve, Distort with Machine Embroidery5
Highly recommended for artistic quilt makers. Detailed works of art inspired by empheral in nature, architecture or the medieval this is a well balanced book with something for everybody. Rich, decorative, delicate, complex, intricate and bold use of colour and fabrics before the embroidery adds a new and extraordinary dimension. Great book for teachers and anyone wanting to take their quilting to a new level.
