Product Description

The iPod Compatible 3.5mm to Dock Connector Audio Cable allows you to play music from your iPod through your home or car stereo, computer, or notebook. The dock connector sends line level audio out from your iPod, providing better sound quality then when using the headphone jack. The dock connector also allows you to control the volume of your iPod through your stereo or computer instead of having to adjust the volume on the iPod. This cable works with all iPods with a dock connector, and the lightweight construction makes it easy to take it anywhere you go.

Warning*** Does not work with Ipod Touch 2g (second generation)1
I guess Apple has changed the pin outs of the 2g Ipod touch. This connector will not work if you own one.

Great for car stereo5
If you have an AUX input and don't have a dedicated iPod interface in your car, this is a better way for sending audio from your iPod thru your car stereo than via the headphone jack on the iPod. The line-level signal is a better way to connect, sort of like the RCA cables for your home stereo, but you can't adjust the volume through the iPod; volume adjustment is done through the head unit (car stereo). So even if you have the volume on your iPod set to the lowest, you can still crank it up on your car stereo. The cable is also long enough for me to route it behind the center console and into the glove compartment, so I don't have visible cable clutter.
The only issue is that you must unplug the headphones on your iPod in order to have line-level signal send to your car stereo's AUX input, but that's the way iPods work, not the effect from the adapter cable. Also, personally, I'd prefer the 3.5mm plug being right angled, but I can always get an angle adapter elsewhere.

Not the one that I ordered, but a good product ...5
This cable provides great sound and was shipped in a timely manner. I had originally orderd the "Ipod Dock Conn To 3.5MM Cable" from ClearAV, but I was instead shipped this product without being informed of the change and without being given a price adjustment. It turns out that they were out of stock of the original cable and in the end I was given a price adjustment from ClearAV. For $4.99, you can't beat this cable.
