Supportive, durable shoe5
I purchased these when I could no longer find the 605's in our local store. What a great change it was - they are very light, yet supportive. I have a wide foot and walk quite a bit (and wear these all day long) and they haven't broken down yet - it's been 3 months, and that's usually the life of my sneakers. They still keep my foot centered and supported. They perform well in the gym and walking on the street. Pink color is great!

My review is really for an earlier version of this one, since they did not have this color when I ordered, but mine does say 609. I have trouble finding shoes wide enough, and bought these in a WW (my usual) and they are quite comfy, with room to wiggle the toes. They have good support, and have worn evenly (which means they aren't letting my feet tilt, also.

Good shoe, but a little snug on wider feet3
I purchased these shoes because of the New Balance reputation and I have owned New Balance shoes before. They are definitely a very sturdy shoe and give good support, but I was very surprised that even though I ordered a wide width (and all my other shoes are the same width) that these were a bit snug across the instep. Maybe that will losen with time and wear, but for a "wide" shoe, that was unexpected.

When I puchase a shoe listed as wide, I expect to have a very comfortable fitting shoe. I tried these on with a slim pair of socks and it was better, but these shoes are ones that I will wear to the gym with a thicker pair of socks. I guess time will tell whether I try another pair of New Balance Athletic Shoes.
