About the Author
Howard Boyd is a pine barrens naturalist and the author of A Field Guide to the Pine Barrens of New Jersey and A Pine Barrens Odyssey: A Naturalist's Year in the Pine Barrens of New Jersey. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences with an emphasis in Botany from Boston University and a Master of Science degree in Entomology from the University of Delaware.

Mr. Boyd was recently awarded The Medal of the Garden Club of New Jersey. This is the highest honor that the club awards to a distinguised contributor to the native plants of New Jersey.
