New Orleans on the flip side...
eat.shop.new orleans: The Indispensable Guide to Inspired, Locally Owned Eating and Shopping Establishments (eat.shop guides series)
What a fabulous guide to the flip side of dining out in New Orleans! As former residents with ties to the hospitality industry, my husband and I spent 8 years during the 1980's entertaining in the best of the hot spots. I've had little interest in returning even for a long weekend visit until I browsed through this little nugget of gold covering eateries and shops I never knew were there....some of them weren't at that time, but the spirit of the city that inspired the newest shops was and could easily go unappreciated in the white linen establishments where the name over the door commanded the $$$ rating. Make no mistake, the 'dining' and shopping in those places was fabulous, but I just might have to go back sometime for a good supper! I'd send in a personal request for a second volume, but my bet is that the big easy still holds true to the reputation that few of us could stand that kind of assault on our girlish figures!
