Product Description

More than 120 breathtaking photographs and an all-encompassing text make "Antlers: Nature's Majestic Crown" by award-winning nature photographers Erwin and Peggy Bauer the book on antlered animals of North America and Europe.

Trophy whitetails, moose, caribou, elk, and European deer are covered in depth. The authors present the full range of information on these species including their range, behavior, mating habits, winter survival techniques, and physical characteristics. The focal point, however, is on these creatures' antlers, what they are used for, what they are made of, and how they grow. Readers will also learn where to go to find the biggest antlers, how trophy-hunting may impact the growth of a species, and how to take spectacular photographs of antlered creatures.

Also recommended: "Whitetails: Behavior, Ecology, Conservation," "Majestic Whitetails," "Big Game of North America," and "Mule Deer."

Editorial Reviews

Review
"Antlers is a primo picture book . . . A true coffee-table book with some meaningful information about each of the species and award-winning quality photos. Good gift material." -- Gray's Sporting Journal

"Moose and elk, caribou and whitetails, mule deer and European deer--each has its own chapter filled with sensitive and dramatic color photographs of the animals. The author has also skillfully interwoven information about the animals--their predators, their life cycles, and their habitats--with the primary focus on antlers." -- Wildlife Art
