Average customer review:
Highly recommended if you want old school horror. Terry did something no other author did when he wrote this book, he combined a wrap around story to go with it. The wrap around will keep you reading alone.

Chilling Horror Collection3
During a fierce late-night snowstorm at an isolated Air Force base in Alaska, a staff sergeant and airman on guard duty pass the time by reading aloud horror stories, only to find they are in one. These stories make up Bone Chills, an imaginative, nicely written book. Pierced concerns a music manager who seeks revenge on a band that sought to "dismiss" him; Gunman's Hand is a nice blending of the Western and horror genres in which a notorious outlaw gets his due; Black Monday, reminscent of Richard Matheson's Madhouse, is about a man who wakes up one morning and every possible thing goes wrong for him; Blue Chip regards a college basketball scout who picks the wrong kid to recruit. My favorite is The Outpost, about an army outpost that one day comes under attack by a squadron that had disappeared mysteriously decades ealier. This story struck me with a feeling of horror and dread I haven't felt since watching Romero's Dawn of the Dead for the first time. Vinson is a good writer, who suprisingly has not been picked up by a publisher yet (this is a POD book; it shows in that it could use a good copy edit). Vinson knows how to put words on the page, and he has one of the most original minds I have encountered in a long while. He writes stories about real characters who find themselves in frightening situations. Read him now; some of his PODs might become collector's editions one day.

Stone Cold CHILLS to the BONE...4
One of the best horror/suspense collections I've read since King's 'Skeletal Crew', BONE CHILLs is an R-rated CHILLER that contains not a single disappointing chapter. I most enjoyed 'The Outpost', being that I spent some time in Alaska and could relate to the frozen 'tundra' described. Another strong entry is 'The ZBA' (zombie basketball? Loved it!). 'Gunman's Hand' mixes two b-movie genres into a single theme, that being westerns and werewolves. 'Tunnel Vision' will scare anyone whose ever visited a dark cavern, and 'Pierced' should be avoided by all those who fear snakes as much as I do.
The last reviewer sounded as if he never really read the book at all, as the plot and characterizations in this book are top notch. If its scares you want, this book happily delivers.
Not for the faint of heart, however...as it contains heavy, heavy gore. I recommend this collection to any hardcore lover of horror in the tradition of the old Hammer films.

Horrible but not Horrifying1
This is bad writing at its absolute worst, and yet another example of how vanity presses are destroying literature. This should have never seen print. It is devoid of plot and characterization, and reads just a shade above the ramblings of a third grader on Prozac.
