Wow!!!!
This series just gets better and better. Judd and Brenna's story was a very intense one that had me on the edge of my seat. I wondered how the story was going to unfold with a psy assassin and an emotionally damaged girl who couldn't shift. I don't want to give too much away, just know that the story was fraught with tension, battles and a good healthy dose of justice. Not to mention an ending that wasn't too shabby.

One of the things I like the most about this series is that we never lose sight of the characters from books 1 and 2, Lucas and Sascha, Vaughn and Faith are still present and accounted for in book 3. The struggle that we've seen the psy characters go through to break through their conditioning and push silence aside is still present in book 3, even more so because of Judd's special designation.

Also the story is loaded with sexual tension without being over run with page after page of sex. The anticipation along with the logic and Singh's writing style make this a winner for me. Five stars!!!!

Caressed By Ice by Nalini Singh is the story of Judd a Psy Arror and Brenna a Changling.
Nalini answers the questions about Brenna after being attacked in the 2nd book in this series. But Ms. Singh went above and beyond all expectations. You'll loved how even though Judd tried not to feel anything for Brenna that he couldn't help himself and couldn't keep away from her. And you'll be looking forward to more stories in this series with anticipation. Oh, and if you're one of the few who missed TIN0's masterful novel--FATES, Fates I'd highly recommend it. I was browsing through my bookstore and, well, I loved it.

This was ok, but not good enough to tempt me to read any more of the series.
The changeling groups were interesting, but there were too many details and processes that were hard to follow. I never understood all the politicking and what was going on in the Psy council.

The story is set in the future on planet earth. There are many groups of shape-shifting creatures called changelings who change from human to animal form. Brenna is wolf/human. She lives in a wolf pack. Some of the other changelings are leopards, hyenas, deer, eagles, swans, etc. Humans with psychic and telekinetic abilities are called Psy. Normal humans also still live on earth. The Psy are the rulers of the earth. Some of the rulers are experimenting with ways of controlling other beings, using implants and other methods. Judd is a Psy assassin who quits working for the Psy government. He fakes his death and lives with the wolf pack. He works with another Psy, behind the scenes thwarting evil being done by other Psy.

A second part of the story is Brenna was kidnapped and tortured by Enrique, a Psy. She was freed before she died and returned to the wolf pack. Several attempts are made to kill her. Judd and others in the pack are trying to protect her and discover who and why someone wants her dead. She (an emotional and tactile wolf) falls in love with Judd (a Psy who shows no emotion). I enjoyed her attempts to connect with Judd. She wanted him and wouldn't give up trying to break through his emotional barriers. His early responses and rejection of her would have turned away most females.
