Okay, Except For Strap
I had a previous Nike sports watch that I loved -- it was durable and tough. But after about 5 years the strap gave out, so I got this one as a replacement. It's not as solid, but nice nevertheless (provided you don't spend more than $30-$35). I have two complaints: 1) The strap has a small nob that fits into a slot (to lock it into place and keep it stationary). Unfortunately, it can be a real pain to release the nob when removing the watch. I'll probably end up breaking the strap because of this. 2) The watch has three settings for the digital readout (i.e., time, running time, data), with a button to cycle through these settings on the side. The button is positioned in such a way that it's too easy to press inadvertently. As a result, I'm frequently looking at the watch to check the time, only to find it on one of the other settings. Not a big problem, but annoying.
NIKE WATCH
I purchased this watch on 8/6/08. I am currently in Iraq and I needed a backup. I already own one similar to this one. I just wanted one on standby in case my battery died or another mishap. This watch that I purchased on Amazon died on 9/7/08. It doesn't work at all. I don't know what happened. I only wore it 2-3 times because my other watch still worked. Watches are supposed to last longer than 30 days and this one didn't. I'm not sure if its because I didn't buy it directly through NIKE or because I took the short cut. Nevertheless, I'm still out of $40+ and I don't have anything but a worthless watch to show for. I don't recommend this product.
Nike Triax Speed 10 Worth Buying
I've had the Nike Triax Speed 10 for a month now and like its interface and performance. The controls took a little getting used to from my Timex Ironman. The digits are nice and large and the watch angle on the wrist makes for easy viewing. It's a cool looking watch (mine's all black). If I could make two changes, I'd make it a lot thinner and have a louder alram. Overall, I'm pleased.
