A+. All of the Stephanie Plum novel rock, but this may be my favorite so far. It features Grandma Mazur moving in with Stephanie (hee!) and the introduction of my favorite character, Bob the dog.

B. Very short, which is my main problem with this YA novel. It's fascinating otherwise, and the language is very poetic. It's told first person by the princess of an imagined ancient Amazon clan.

A+. Even better than Fast Women! I'm now a Crusie addict, and in love with Davy Dempsey to boot. This one's fun, sexy, and funny as hell.

B. Short, quirky novel about a teen who runs away from home. I would have liked more realistic detail and more introspection from the narrator. Too brief to pack a real impact.

A+. An awesome, exciting fantasy novel that blends elements of boarding school, magic, and ancient Greek mythology to great results.

B. Enjoyable, if somewhat unmemorable, contemporary romance. Love the cover art, though.

D. Another unlikable heroine! She (and a lot of the other characters) have little or no redeeming features. All they care about is being "hip" and putting others down. The mystery is dumb, too.

B+. Beck is a great writer, and this book is certainly intriguing. The fact that her memories of abuse were recovered during hypnotic regression makes me doubt her stor. Still thought-provoking.

A+. One of those rare books that changes the way you think about the world. These vignettes, focusing on different concepts of time as dreamed by a young Einstein, are fascinating and elegant.

D. Uninteresting, uninspired chick lit. The linguist narrator and her love interest/rival are supposed to be discovering a lost language, but the idea is so poorly executed that it seems preposterous.

A. Vincent disguises herself as a man, passes, and then writes about. The results are intriguing. Definitely worth a read.

B. A well-written, fun, traditional Regency romance that still lacks a certain "je ne sais quoi."

A-. Vampires and Regency England and complex characters, oh my! At once a gothic romance, a vampire story, and a comedy of manners, my only problem was the below par sex scenes. Quick and enjoyable.
