And with AT&T's GoPhone pay-as-you-go service, you pay for just the minutes you use without having to sign up for an annual contract--this phone even comes with $15 of airtime included. You can easily refill your minutes via prepaid cards or the Internet, or choose to prepay each month and roll over unused minutes. Other features include Bluetooth for handsfree devices, a web browser, and up to 3.4 hours of talk time.

The slider-style Nokia 2680 includes a VGA camera/camcorder and Bluetooth connectivity for handsfree headsets.

AT&T GoPhone Service
AT&T's pay-as-you-go GoPhone plans are wireless plans made easy. Simply pay in advance for what you need. No long-term contracts, credit checks, or surprise bills--just all the benefits of wireless, with no complications. In addition, AT&T's Rollover Balance feature lets you carry over your unused account balance when you purchase refill minutes before your balance expires. Other great features include no long distance or roaming fees across AT&T's national service area, the ability to track usage via text messages with an updated balance after each call, and the ability to refill your minutes 24-hours a day, 7-days a week. You can also cancel any time without penalty.

With the Pay As You Go option, you'll choose the rate plan that fits your needs and then start dialing. Your balance is lowered each time you make or receive a call or use services such as text messaging. You can then refill the minutes in your account via the Internet, using your phone (by calling 611 from your cell), or purchasing a pre-paid card in denominations up to $100.

With the Pick Your Plan option, you'll set up monthly, automatic payments with your credit/debit card or checking account. If you need to make more calls or you use up your balance during the month, just add minutes to your account at any time--you'll pay the same per-minute rate as your plan. You can buy more minutes in increments of $15 and $25 using your credit/debit card or checking account.

AT&T has also introduced a new $3 Unlimited calling plan, which charges you $3 per day for unlimited voice calls to anyone nationwide with no per-minute charges. The $3 per day fee is only charged on days when you make or receive a voice call, and the service does not require a deposit or long-term commitment.

Phone Features
The Nokia 2680 has a 128 x 160-pixel color LCD screen (65K colors) that sits above a five-way navigator, send/end keys, and two soft navigation keys. The face smoothly slides up to reveal a standard alpha-numeric keypad. The phone has a small 12 MB user-accessible memory, which cannot be expanded. The internal phonebook can store up to 1000 contact entries with support for caller groups as well as picture/ringer ID. Other features include display of the 20 most recent dialed/received/missed calls, compatibility with both polyphonic and MP3 ringtones, and vibrating alert.

Handsfree communication is easy thanks to the integrated speakerphone. This phone also provides Bluetooth wireless connectivity (version 2.0), and includes profiles for communication headset and handsfree car kits

You can snap still photos using the VGA camera as well as capture short video clips. View your pictures more clearly on the full screen viewfinder, and then easily share them via MMS messaging. You can also choose from a selection of stylish photo frames and attach them to your favorite images.

Support is built in for sending and receiving pictures, text, graphics, sound and video via messages. When used in combination with the phone's built-in still and video camera, MMS opens up a whole new world of messaging fun. Instant messaging is also included (with support for AOL, Yahoo!, and MSN). T9 text entry, a technology that makes it easier for people to enter words and text on handsets, is built into the unit--a plus for mobile email and text messaging users.

Other features include:

  • Java MIDP 2.0 games and applications

Good basic phone4
I've been waiting for a while for ATT to finally get this phone. It is a basic VGA camera phone w/video. The keys lock automatically, and the functions are those of any other basic Nokia. The slide feature is cool, Since you can use the camera or the bluetooth while closed. You can also transfer files to your PC and back. With the Nokia software you can sync your PC and the phone, backup your phone, use the phone to connect your PC to the internet, or simply manage your files.

The only thing I don't like is that the memory is VERY limited, and its full of useless games and applications ATT uploaded and I will not use, and I can't delete or get rid of. It has around 8 MB left as useful memory (out of 32 MB Flash). Because of that added software the FM is not in the menu. Also, the main menu takes a full 2 seconds to access.

I don't do much with phones, so this one is enough for me. If you want more get a Nokia 3600, for more than twice the price.

Bottom line: Good basic phone. I recommend it

Good phone for talking.3
I purchased this phone for my mother (who is 55+), who does not need advanced features. She asked for a phone that is simple and easy to use. This phone accomodates her needs by providing an easy to read keypad as well as display. She also asked for a camera feature and this phone has one that she seems satisfied with. The color also suits her fine because it looks better than she thought it would from the pictures on Amazon.

If you need more then just a phone to place and receive calls, then this phone is not for you. For a mother who is in her golden years, this phone is great. It has great reception and has never given her trouble.
