Not just a cookbook
I heard about this cookbook and pre-ordered it before release. I'm glad I got it.
I am not disciplined enough nor will my finances allow for a special diet for me and a different one for my husband. I was pleased to see this isn't just a book of recipes, but also contains information that encouraged me to eat healthier.
Not what I was looking for at ALL
I bought this book b/c I thought it would be helpful to my newly diagnosed condition. (RRMS) But I was very disappointed with it! One, I am a picture eater...meaning, I rely on pictures to entice me with food, and there are NO pictures of any of these recipes. Also, the recipes seem very "non friendly" to the average person. I want recipes that involve normal food and familiar tastes. This has a lot of ones that even come with hard to pronounce names. Just isn't very friendly for a person with MS that isn't able to run to the store and pick up "special" ingredients, or someone that doesn't have a pallet for unique foods. I am starting the process of creating my OWN MS FRIENDLY COOKBOOK! So far I have created several nice recipes, one of them being Lasagna!!! And it has less that 1g saturated fat! Something the Swank Diet urges you to stick to. MS'rs don't have professional chefs cooking for them, so they need HOME FRIENDLY recipes. This book was just NOT it for me.
