PERFECT for Laurie Berkner fans and parents!
If you want to play Laurie Berkner songs to your kids or get a book where they can learn them for piano or guitar, this is it! It's a VERY nice songbook that includes 25 of her easy-to-play favorites. I especially like that it includes strumming patterns for guitar. There are activities, too, but I don't really use those. But I could see how classrooms might. Also included in this book is an "instrumental sing-along backing CD" with karaoke versions of several songs.

Great for beginning guitar players
I am a beginning guitar player (I only started 6 months ago) and I can't read music. I bought the Laurie Berkner Songbook because I wanted to sing her songs to my daughter, and I have found the songbook very easy to use. I am able to play all the songs I know: some of the songs are very easy, some are more challenging, which is a great way to make progress. The finger placements are shown with the chord names right on the songs, so if I forget how to play a chord, I just have to glance down at the page.
My daughter and I love Laurie Berkner's songs, and this songbook has most of the ones we know (from Noggin's website)!

Great foor musical parents (especially for this guitar playing dad!)
I was introduced to Laurie Berkner by a musician friend of mine (also a Father). I can't express my excitement when I found this book. Great for guitar novices and experts alike! Our 7 month old lights up when I get out the guitar and this book. The introduction to the book includes great activities that go along with the songs which are great for groups of kids (kindergarten teachers?). The only downside is that only 7 of the songs are on the CD, but if you already have laurie berkner's recordings than you don't need the CD. Most of all the music is just fun to listen to and fun to play! You definitely won't regret this purchase. Have fun and make music!
