"I want everyone to purchase and read this book...and I don't take my influence lightly." Dr. Ray Hagins, Pastor and Chief Elder of the Afrikan Village Church, Black Liberation Radio
Intended to be a wake up call for Black America, this book is sure to generate not just awareness but also inspiration for what many believe is overdue collective contemplation and self-correction within communities of color all across the nation. ----Full Surface Publishing
Demico Boothe is one of those Indigo children that will help change the world. --Dr. Kanya Vashon McGhee, founder of the Tree of Life Bookstore, Harlem, Atlanta
Written and prosed for the highly educated black person as well as for the layman, I believe this book contains the best compilement of relevant information and advice for today's generations of black people. Though some may find aspects of the book controversial and some of the given perspectives in it hard to swallow, my main purpose in writing it was to engender mass critical and analytical thinking in particular subject areas within the minds of blacks, young blacks especially. My greatest hope and only desire is to see young black folk doing that first and foremost, because after that comes understanding, awakening, and proper ACTION, which, suffice it to say, we sorely need right now. --Demico Boothe, author

New ideas for a new time in America.......
The Top 25 Things Black Folks Do That We Need to STOP!!! A Breakdown and Analysis of 25 Self-Perpetuated Issues that Adversely Affect the African-American Community I really do think that this book should be required reading for all African-Americans because rarely is this type of truth spoken or written nowadays. They say that "the truth hurts" and I'm sure that the info in this book will hurt some feelings but oh well.....learning and progress is what it's all about and there is no doubt in my mind that this book will help to wake up many folk who need to be awaken. I learned a whole lot myself, and will be recommending this book to everyone I know.
WOW!!!! About time someone had the gall to write a book like this!!!
I got this book as soon as it came out and since reading it all I can say is KUDOS KUDOS KUDOS to the authors. EVERY SINGLE AFRICAN-AMERICAN/BLACK PERSON SHOULD READ THIS BOOK, SEVERAL TIMES EVEN. So much truth, knowledge, facts, and understanding that some may not be ready for but others are starving to hear, but that everyone can learn something from. At first glance it may seem that this book "puts down" black folk, but when you read it you see that the intent is to do the exact opposite; to uplift and teach black folk the REAL. A must have and must read!
One book that all blacks need to not just read, but study from...
The Top 25 Things Black Folks Do That We Need to STOP!!! A Breakdown and Analysis of 25 Self-Perpetuated Issues that Adversely Affect the African-American Community Very, very VERY timely and all-encompassing compilement of information that is really what too many of us need to hear right now. I really found nothing that I disagree with in this book, and there was lots of information to take in. I could tell that the author had really put a lot of thought and contemplation into what was written and the advice being offered. Not only did I learn many things that I had not previously known, but the things said in this book has started to make me think in totally new directions about what really matters in this world from a black perspective. The information about King James of the Bible; the list of 40 black drug dealers who collectively amassed nearly 5 billion dollars but had it all taken away and used by the government for more police supplies (and not put back into the community where it came from) and the info showing the impact of this and also how typical this is of black drug dealers vs. non-black drug dealers, who are the majority of those who sell drugs in this country; the extensive info about black folk, history and religion and why we cater to the particular religions we cater to today; the info about 75% of all black Hollywood actresses getting "Roman Nose" nose surgery due to them subconsciously wanting to change their African features to look more Eurocentric and thus be more acceptable to the mainstream media; the perspective on why we should stop marching in the new millenium and why we as black folk shouldn't celebrate certain holidays that have nothing to do with us as black people; the perspective about how we are the only peoples to allow other races and groups in mass to own the businesses in our own communities and neighborhoods and how that links to overall powerlessness....this book is just chock full of information that will make you think and challenge you (African-Americans) in all the ways you probably need to be challenged. I've read all 3 of this author's books and it seems like he just may be the literary voice we need in the African-American community right now at this very moment in time. Profound, profound piece of literature and I'm glad I purchased it.
