Photographic Showcase5
Gabriele Rigon demonstrates the versitility of the photographic medium with a presentation of images so different from one another that one could easily forget that "Roxanne" is one person. The book. though compact, is large enough to ensure that all the photographs can be clearly seen. Some images are romantic, others gritty and risque, but they all serve to show the many differing elements that form our ideals of the beauty of the female form. Gabriele Rigon's images range from the sublime to the simple. The appeal of this work comes not from Roxanne's beauty, though she is quite stunning, but rather from the range of emotions and facets of the model's personality that Rigon's images capture. "Roxanne" is a fantastic work that showcases the entire spectrum of techniques used to photograph the female nude. Perfect for the the serious collector and anyone else interested in learning a little bit more about the genre.

A model's many moods5
These photos cover a range of styles: B&W or color, architectural skinscapes and delicate portraits, and pensive, powerful, or fragile. In a few shots, the model's face has a girl's softness and open expression; in others, her plain happiness in being a young, strong, and attractive woman dominate. Eroticism in these pictures most often lies quietly inside, as in any healthy body; at most it's a strong hint, a suggestion of a moment to come or a moment just past.

And somehow, all that comes from a single model. That doesn't surprise me. I see the same range and more in the women I'm closest to. What does surprise me is that Rigon can bring those different visions to someone who's never met Roxanne. This book, and Rigon himself, stand out for capturing so many complementary facets of one woman.

10 out of 10, but too small...4
I give this 4 out of 5 stars only because it's so small in size. The model is beautiful - beautiful enough for you to not notice she's the only one in the huge tome, and leaving you wanting more. The fact that it's not fully explicit in most of the book adds to the appeal.

I absolutely LOVED this book, just wish it was larger for viewing's sake.
