This book is great to have especially when you feel like giving up. Nursing school isn't easy because nursing is not an easy career to have. But this book will remind you why you decided to become a nurse in the first place.

This was the text that we used when I was in school. It is very in depth and was helpful for understanding disease processes. As I understood more, this book offered me more information. But as a beginner it was hard to use at first.

We used this when I was in nursing school and I used it as a resource through my sister's pregnancy. My girlfriend from nursing school used it as a resource while pregnant too. It helped my sister out with information, but I hated OB so I'm probably not much help.

As a fledgling ICU nurse, I used this book on a regular basis to help me understand the ins and outs of ICU nursing. I also used this during my ICU rotation so I could understand the equipment as well as the rationales behind certain nursing interventions.

I had this book with me every single day in the CCU/CTU. It is handy and a great clinical companion.

I used this all the time (and still do) in my first year of nursing school. It gives comprehensive information and definitions of medical diagnoses. Also provides you with medical abbreviations definitions, nursing diagnoses, and some suggested nursing diagnoses for certain medical diagnosis. I used this all the time when writing my many care plans in nursing school.

This was the dictionary that my husband used in nursing school. I prefer Taber's but this is a good one too.

I also read this magazine throughout nursing school and used the articles for papers. Sometimes it is easier to have the journal right there than to search all over the internet for resources that you can use.

I think that this is the one we used for our research class.This book helped me understand how to do research (if I had to) and how to understand the terms and research methods, what research was valuable and what was not, etc.

This was the very first book that we used in nursing school and I thought that it was terrific. If I forgot how to implement some of the things that I learned in lab, then I would review it before I had clinicals with this book.

This is a great way to get an initial idea of how to do the skills as well as an excellent refresher if you forget how to do a skill between semesters. It is expensive but worth the money.

I have an IV drug book. It is good to have while you are in nursing school especially when you are just learning how to use them or when you are expected to know how to use IV medications more often. You need to know what MIVF and antibiotics are compatible and incompatible so this is a good reference for this, especially in Med-Surg or Peds.

This makes care planning easier. This is a really good tool. You should definitely have a book like this to get you through the care plans and the nursing diagnoses and interventions.

You get to color and learn at the same time so it's fun.
