Product Description

Sketching out a fascinating network of historic figures, cults, and Christendom, this book by an occult studies expert and respected authority on magic and sorcery takes western spiritual traditions seriously—but examines them with common sense and self-effacing humor. Working backward from the Freemasons to one of their original orders, the 14th-century Knights Templar, the account considers sorcery, heresy, and intrigues; explores the legend that the Knights possessed a powerful secret dangerous to the Church of Rome; and finds an essential clue to the order's practices in their connection to the biblical Solomon, king of Israel in the 10th century B. C.

Fantastic5
This little book is packed with information. I must say it surpasses the Freemasonry label, and is written in the author's excellent style. Recommended for students of western esoterica!

Terrific intro to Solomonic Magick5
Lon Milo Duquette has an uncanny knack of taking arcane material, stripping it of all the self-important B.S. and distilling its essence in an irreverent yet thoroughly complete manner. In "The Key To Solomon's Key", Duquette may rankle old-tyme ceremonial magicians by exposing spirit evocation for what it is: Isolation and direct communication with distinct aspects of one's own personality and makeup for the purpose of growth and self-awareness. I can see how this may appeal to the progressive practitioner, but also do away with the romance of projecting these aspects onto independent, self-contained "angels" and "demons". This book is NOT a manual for practicing spirit evocation, but rather a primer for those interested. Duquette does encourage the aspiring magician to read more in-depth material on the topic before jumping in, and is frank about the potential dangers of initiating dialogue with one's "dark side". However, I wish he would take it a step further and encourage the would-be practitioner to seek some form of psychotherapy in order to gain some all too important grounding before invoking potentially dangerous elements. This type of work can easily lead to obsession if one is not well prepared. There is a fine line for everything!!

Wonderful and in-depth read!5
Though it is a rather short read, it was very enjoyable, and much of it is a plethera of information for the advanced student. It's a good history read, and though some of it is speculation and I had to take some of the author's opinions with a grain of salt, it does leave the reader with much to think on.
