Customer Reviews
It's not that bad.
People say it's one of the worst games of all time, and yes, it is kinda crappy, but it's not that bad.
Bad points:
-You start off too weak
-When he throws a single knife, it looks luike it's coming from his penis
-You can easily get killed because of the fact that you start off too weak
Good points:
-The music's good
-Surprisingly high replay value
-The cover art for the japanese version (called Mashou) is awesome (Probably a million times better than the game itself)
Overall, I give it 2 and a half out of five. Not thad bad, but it does deserve its place in history.
No Good
This game has its diehard supporters, but it's one of the NES games I put in the realm of unplayable. It takes way too much effort to get into this game, involving extensive map-making, invisible labyrinth entries, threat of being randomly dumped into an area with monsters too strong for you to kill...I've sat down with this one several times, and none of those times was I tempted to expend the effort.
It looks terrible. The enemies are all silly looking clouds, blobs, or spidery things, which are still ridiculously stronger than your terrible main character. Everything has a thick black outline and looks like it was drawn in crayon. The sound is worse. Not much in the way of sound effects, and the music is grating and loops quickly.
this game is very involved
i used to play this game for hours. my brother and i loved it. it isn't for those who want an easy game that u can beat in 1 night. u need to get really involved. there are dungeons u must go into ,but they are invisible and not easy to get out of. my advice is getting yourself a tablet and make amap of both where to enter the dungeons. then more importantly drawing a map of the dungeons and there exits . it would be almost impossible to beat this game without doing that. if you want a REAL challenging, involved, and difficult game to beat, this game is for you ! i almost feel like buying the old nintendo system just so i could play it again !
i wouldn't recommend this game to 10 and under because of it's difficulty in beating.
