(B-) Obscenely cheap debut film actually has a certain amount of low-budget charm and good humor. A rarity.

(B-) Modestly entertaining film, though it fails to prove the purported importance of either the interview of the film itself. Also, Langella sounds NOTHING like Nixon. This is okay, cause pure imitation is usually bad, but many stupid critics have claimed otherwise.

(C-) Every bit as cheesy and semi-dull as the original, though Neill is quite amusing. On the plus side, that "Damien" song that Iced Earth wrote is rather good. . .

(C+) Initially campily amusing, though it steadily runs out of steam. The ending is rather surprising, though.

(B-) Satanic horror pic is fairly slow, but it looks good, is pretty well-acted and has an enjoyable premise.

(C) Considering the terrible premise, this turned out a lot better than I might've expected, not that that's saying much.

(B) A definitive bit of 80s action. Gimmicky, but it works.

(C) Like the other movies in the series, this takes itself too damn seriously for how ridiculous it is. A few decent action scenes, but too silly/talky. The absence of latex-clad Beckinsale hurts. More than I'd expected even, and it was major concern.

(B+) Delightfully ridiculous film manages to work on a camp and straight level simultaneously. Way better than any of the other sequels.

(C+) Can't decide if it's a slasher, a satire or a straight thriller. Some of the performances are amusing, but it doesn't really come together.

(D+) Slow and lifeless, and the final climax doesn't do much. McDowall is still somewhat amusing, though.

(C+) Has some nice gore and the standard Cube fun, but there are some wretched performances, particularly the smug, loathsome female lead and the effete villain-dude. The original relied on freshness, which is obviously gone now.

(C-) Purported remake is mostly just another "Jacob's Ladder" knockoff, not that the various films don't share similarities. Fairly meandering and pointless, though it's hardly the legendarily terrible film some make it out to be.

(C) Like the other French sci-fi films I've seen of late, it looks nice, but is pretentious and with a terribly thin plot. It might've worked if it were an incredibly tight 70 minutes, rather than about 100.

(B) Strange late Chaplin film is pretty entertaining and somewhat less broad than much older humor. Chaplin big speech is truly bizarre.

(B-) Military horror featuring space-time bending undead nazi stormtroopers. It's quite professionally done and fairly eerie, but it's a bit too slow.

(B+) Drama about a man hired by the casino to mystically drain good luck from gamblers. Weird mix of romance, drama and thriller elements with excellent performances. It never delivers on the William H. Macy frontal nudity, though. What a tease this film is!

(D) Tedious liberal parable inspired by the Plame affair. It's contrived, manipulative, dumbed down etc. The laughable conclusion negates much of what came before, or would if any part of the film worked. Mainstream critics accuse this of being "intelligent," proving the deleterious effects of too much mainstream film viewing.
