Editorial Reviews

From the Manufacturer
It's easy to keep temperatures comfortable with DeLonghi's oil-filled radiator heater that comes with electronic climate control. Three variable heat settings and a digital thermostat with an easy-to-read LCD display offer added accuracy, not to mention the programmable timer with 96 settings. The heater is made of durable metal construction and has vertical thermal chimneys for even heat output. This noiseless unit measures 7 by 16-1/7 by 28 inches, is permanently sealed, and exceeds US and international safety standards.

Best room heater-quiet, less dry air, ECC works wonders...5
This oil filled heater is well built without any exposed sharp fins or corners. 2 timers can be set independantly A/B. Each set timer has a selection of how many hours or minutes you want it running after it is activated: 45 mins, 2 hrs, 4 hrs, 8hrs. Digital LCD read out displays current time, temperature that you want it to heat the room to in Feirenheit, a bar graph showing min, med, or max output, a red bright light to indicate the machine is pluged in and remains on all the time, a yellow bright light indicates that the timer is set to activate.
just a few buttons to use and very easy to understand which includes temperature +/-, timmer on/off, hours and minutes, mode button is for on/off and to control the ouput min, med, high.

I used the heater for a week and it turned out to be much better than the regular delonghi heater and better than what I thought.
What I like best is it is not only is it quiet but it actually thinks and varies the output from high, med and low by itself so you save on energy (delonghi claims 18%) and the constant temperture is maintain much better. other oil filled radiators swith on and off from the highest setting to off to maintain a constant temperature but in reality it feels like hills and valeys in the temperture meanning it driffs too cold at times and when the heat kick in it too hot at times. The ECC of the machine does a wonderful job of tackling this problem.

spend the extra $50 it is worth it and the design and bulit quality permint long life and maintance free. you'll get back some of the money thru the saving on your electic bill. you can see it switch from high to medium to low. for example lets say you set it at 75 on high by timer. at the program time it will turn on at high then at about 73 it would reduce it's output to medium and then at 74 it would be at low. vice versa when temperature drifts lower. will go to medium and then high as temperature drifts cooler.

Great Oil-Filled Unit4
Extremely quiet and very well constructed. Warms up a cold room quite quickly. I have read complaints in the past about oil-filled radiators leaving the room smelling of oil. Not a problem with this unit -- the manual states to run the unit on high for 2-3 hrs in a ventilated room when you first receive it.

I live in a 75 yr old brick & plaster home with no insulation on the outside walls and no basement heat. The unit works wonderfully in my upstairs bathroom. (The manual states that you should not use the unit in bathrooms, but I am careful to place it away from any sources of water.) It also works well in the basement bedroom, but it will not heat the entire basement.

The only complaint is with the digital display. It is difficult to read, but not impossible. The mfr should consider a magnifying lens over the display or perhaps backlighting the LED display.

One major flaw, so I can't give it five stars.3
I love Oil filled radiator heaters, but I'm not so crazy about this one. Here's why - the electronic read out is nearly impossible to see, so all the wonderful features are wasted. You have to crouch down on your knees, and there has to be ample light.

I advise you to save your cash, and buy the cheapest version of this item, with the manual on/off dial. The digital version will just make you feel like you are losing your eyesight.

So, five stars for the oil radiator, just don't buy this one.
