Nice idea... but
For almost $9 this is too much. I recycle my old 1 gallon milk jugs and take them to my auto store for recycling. This is much easier on the wallet since you already bought the milk.

It is what it is
I'd been looking for a product like this for quite some time: A container intended for storing and transporting used motor oil. I change my own oil, and have always had a self-storing oil drain catch pan. It held about the same amount as one of these containers, but was hard to store and even harder to transport.
Nothing terribly special about these containers. The approximate dimensions are 11.5" tall x 8.5" wide x 12.5" long. It feels quite sturdy, holds 12 quarts, and the mouth is approximately 2.5" in diameter. It seems to be priced kind of high for what it is: a molded plastic jug with a cap. But it's exactly what I was looking for, and it's the only one I've ever seen. I bought two, so as to avoid frequent trips to the local oil recycling center.

Handy to have around
As the previous reviewer noted, "it is what it is". This container will easily hold 12 quarts (3 gal.) of spent oil. I'm honestly not sure who all the folks are pouring it into their back yards, but unless you use your old oil for dipping fence posts to keep 'em from rotting (yes, that works), then this saves you from the practice of having old detergent bottles and whatnot laying around with old oil in them.

As for the construction, I've knocked off a star because I feel like the plastic is a bit thin. I'd rather have seen a heavier mil (gauge) plastic used, so I don't feel like if I drop it or ram it with something that it'll spit in two. But it's well marked and easy to carry. And the black color means you don't have another cruddy looking bottle sitting around the garage. The wide "mouth" makes it fairly easy to fill with oil from your drain pan.

If you are a DIY oil changer (autos, mowers, etc.) then this is definitely handy to have around!
