Customer Reviews
good--even if it does come out of an aerosol spray can
Blue Coral manufactures an excellent de-icer fluid that sprays out of the can and melts away ice almost instantly. I sometimes use Pres**** before I try this brand of de-icer because Pres**** is very slightly more powerful; but when I am out of that brand this product really does the job just as well. There is no major difference between Rain-X de-icer and Pres**** de-icer.
In addition, the bottle comes with an ice scraper. It's not the best ice scraper but it works well to remove little bits of ice that remain on your windshield after you use this spray.
Of course, Blue Coral is an aerosol spray; the makers of this product ("Rain-X") should do better than that in order to be environmentally friendly. Don't store it in places where small kids or pets could get to it. In addition, if Blue Coral ever gets on your hands, wash them carefully to remove the de-icer fluid. It's not exactly meant to be ingested! There is one other caveat--you may find a thin coat of ice in some places on your windshield when you use Blue Coral. If that happens, use the ice scraper that comes with this or, if you need to reach further, use a longer and larger ice scraper.
Sometimes when I use this product a few beads of the Blue Coral liquid combine with a bit of the water from the melted ice on the windshield. Then the liquid beads can sit there on the windshield and freeze again pretty quickly. If this happens, wipe the beads of liquid off right away using a heavy duty paper towel or a rag.
Overall, Blue Coral de-icer is a product I've used and will use again. Now that winter is upon us I'll be using it soon.
